The Novo Nordisk Foundation granted DKK 201.888.000 (≈27 mill. Euro)
to establish The Danish Diabetes Academy.
The Academy was established in September 2012
The Academy is co-financed by the universities in Denmark and by
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
The Academy is hosted at Odense University Hospital where a secretariat
has been established
7. Objectives
To enhance the quality of diabetes research in Denmark and ensure that it
remains at the highest international level in the future
To strengthen the talent pool and to build up a career direction for young
researchers within the field of diabetology
To strengthen networking, knowledge sharing and collaboration within
diabetology for national and international researchers
