DuPont Landscape System
The purpose of using DuPont landscape fabric (Typar) was to control capillary rise of saline
groundwater. Additional advantages of using landscape fabric were as following:
1. Control weeds from coming up in the gravel layer.
2. Provide a separator between the soft soil and upper gravel layer. It is easy to wash down
gravel as water percolates through the porous landscape fabric.
3. Provide reinforcement below the gravel layer.
4. Low cost, the project saved over 60% in comparison to traditional cement concrete or
pavers.
5. Landscape fabric provides durable and flexible solution that can be removed if required
and re-used.
