Workforce One at Atlantic
October 12, 2007 a great day for the adult BPA group when they hosted their first workshop and invited
Workforce One as their guest speaker.
At the workshop the BPA members in attendance learned the importance continuing their education in
order to increase their employability. Workforce One was represented by Mr. George Rich and Mr. Harry
DeBeziers.
George informed the members that Workforce One was set up to help people find jobs and to enhance
Florida job market with quality employees.
Rich noted that the WIA can assist people with up to three thousand five hundred dollars towards tuition
to improve themselves and another two thousand five hundred dollars towards school books and support
needed for school, including bus passes and gas cards.
Harry noted that most people, when preparing their resume leave out the most important
information which would help them seal the interview and the position they were applying for.
He noted that the mundane task that people do every day helps the business function and stated
in monetary value will highlight their potential.
Harry added that the latest technology has taken over the world of resume writing and is
sweeping the job market. He said that the video resume is the wave of the future and has proven
to be very effective because it is easily recognized and helps to eliminate the competition and the
first interview.
All in attendance were impressed with the presentation and bombarded the two guest speakers
with a barrage of questions which were skillfully answered. Thank you to our two guest speakers
from the BPA for a job well done.
