1. Part1: Login into Environment.
1.1 Login into the vSphere.
1.2 Review Diagram.
2. Part2:Configure Networking.
2.1 Your VM’s need to used the IP address outlined in the diagram.
2.2 Your LAN’s need to be assigned 172.16.25.1/24
3. Install DNS.
3.1 The Zones that you are responsible for is vermharj.com
3.2 The forward and reverse zones are need to be defined.
3.3 The forward and reverse zones records are needed to be declared.
3.4 Forward and reverse records are needed for each of the hosts plus records
for each of the host plus the records for the router, gw and an alias for www
3.5 Test your configuration by using the tools :dig and nslookup.
4. Install DHCP
4.1 On Server1, Install the Dhcp Server
4.2 Create a pool of address from 172.16.25.100 – 172.16.25.150.
4.3 Create static entries for srv2 using its mac address.
4.4 Set the domain name to vermharj.com DNS name servers to point to srv2.
4.5 Verify your machine are configured to use DHCP. They need to receive the
proper IP address, gateway, subnet mask, dns server info.
5. Install apache and wordpress
5.1 Install Apache, MySQL, and PHP and remember the password of the SQL.
5.2 Prepare MySQL for wordpress.
5.3 Install and configure wordpress using info unique to you.
5.4 Verify Web server /wordpress is functioning from your Windows Client.
5.5 Ensure that you have the CNAME record in DNS that resolves ‘www’ from
the client.
6. Part6:Setup Shares/Client access
6.1 Insatll samba server on both the servers
6.2 Create the following Shares on them
Srv1: share:www , users:vermharj,pearcero ,Group: DEV
Srv2: share:backups,data , users:vermharj,pearcero ,Group:TECHS
6.3 Ensure that the pearcero and vermharj has write access to www
6.4 Ensure that pearcero and vermharj has write access to backups and data
on srv2.
6.5 Ensure that the Windows client has putty and can access the servers via
hostname
6.6 Map the network Drive to www on srv1 to allow user pearcero to control
the web development.
