2. OPERATION SYSTEM
WHAT IS ANDROID OPERATION?
Android is a Linux-based operating system for
mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet
computers.
Android specially developed for applications
There are more than 4,00,000 apps in Android
market
The Android is an open source.
3. How does the Android operating system
work?
Android is based on the Linux kernel long-term
support branch. Its user interface is based on direct-
manipulation, meaning it was designed for
touchscreen devices, responding to swiping, tapping,
pinching, and reverse pinching as well as having a
virtual keyboard. These functions operate under the
use of internal hardware such as accelerometers,
gyroscopes and proximity sensors. Android software
is mainly used for mobile phones and tablets, but can
also be used for TVs and digital cameras, although
obviously not every app written for an Android
smartphone will transition over to a TV or camera.
