1. Our farm and campsite is located in a beautiful and quiet natural area. Our KIDS
CAMPSITE is specially designed for groups of children from English Medium Primary
Schools. We provide them with all the materials they need, like tents and mattresses,
but they can create their own nature camp, campfire place and playground in the
wilderness. Isn’t that wonderful? In daytime we offer plenty of activities whereby the
group will be divided into smaller groups.
WELCOME to “EL CAMPO”, a small size organic farm and campsite hidden in the bush land in
the Bagamoyo region. If your students like to enjoy and learn about nature, animals, fruits,
plants and trees then EL CAMPO is the place for them! Imagine, they can build their own
camp, harvest and cook their own food and take care of our animals. Our place is very suitable
for outdoor or extracurricular activities for your school. We will make sure it will be an
unforgettable experience for your students!
“YOUR GLOBAL FOOTPRINT” is a counseling activity which encourages children to take
better care of nature and the environment. The footprint is used for showing how much
pressure we put on our planet by consuming and depleting its natural resources. After filling
out a questionnaire their final marks will show the magnitude of each of the student’s
footprint and after that we discuss what they can do for reducing their footprint. We
finalize each session with each group PLANTING THEIR OWN TREE.
With our “EL CAMPO COMPETITION” different groups compete against each other with
several games, like Water Cup Race, Rope Pulling, Sack Race, Sweet Mzungu and Guess
What? We also offer a TREASURE HUNT, which means the group has to follow a trail that
will be marked by indicators. Upon request we can arrange for additional workshops like
BEEKEEPING, FIRST AID IN THE WILDERNESS and DARK SKIES (astronomy workshop at
night). There is also plenty of time for leisure and sports, like a soccer game or volleyball.
After taking a bath it is time for dinner and after dinner we light a big CAMPFIRE. The
children can sit, sing or dance around the fire. There is also an opportunity to bake bread or
roast some cassava on the campfire. After a busy program they will certainly fall asleep…
