1. Bicycle and Pedestrian Inventory
The following bicycle facilities will be sought out and inventoried: Bicycle racks near public
spaces (library, court house, etc), bicycle racks near private spaces (retail, restaurants, etc),
bicycle trails, bicycle lanes, and bicycle share ports.
The following pedestrian facilities will be sought out and inventoried: crosswalks, pedestrian
walk/don’t walk signals, sidewalks, benches, and trash receptacles.
The inventory will also include bike shops. While not public infrastructure, it is necessary to
have businesses that can provide bicycle gear, equipment, and repairs to bicyclists.

3. In addition to inventorying infrastructure the research team will also document the need for
facilities. This includes people seen bicycling or walking through Uptown, and irregularities such
as bicycles chained to lamp posts, bicycles leaning against the side of buildings, etc.
