2. What is Player+
Player+ ​is our web application dedicated to rugby
players. ​Player+ turns rugby training interactive with
points, badges, levels and evolving avatars. Players can
create and share workouts, plan training schedules,
track their progress, monitor their wellbeing whilst also
following and challenging their friends and teammates.
What is Coach+
Coach+ is our web application dedicated to rugby coaches that
integrates with P​layer+​. Both web apps are accessible at
http://rugbycentric.com and are available on Desktop, tablet and
mobile browsers.
On ​Coach+​, rugby coaches can:
● Import ​Player+​members into their squad
● Monitor the players training regime and well-being
● Plan and schedule S+C workouts, training sessions and
fixtures.
● Send pre-match tactics and post-match feedback
● Upload match videos and perform simple video analysis
● Share match stats and analysed video clips with their squad

3. Navigation
The primary navigation bar is at the top of
every ​Coach+ screen and allows you to
navigate between the different sections.
The top right gear icon gives you access to
your account settings where you can select
your club, change to profile picture, etc.
Onces you are on a specific section you can navigate to the sub sections using the vertical
menu on the left hand side.

4. Dashboard
Overview
The Dashboard is the default page you will see every time you log into ​Coach+​. It gives you a
quick overview of your account metrics as well as the upcoming scheduled fixtures and the
trend in your squad’s well-being.
What Can I Do Here?
From the dashboard you can:
● Check a few important metrics
● Quickly access the pages related to these metrics
● See your upcoming fixtures and events
● Monitor the overall trend in your squad well-being

5. Squad Section
Overview
The Squad section displays all the information related to the players in your squad.
What Can I Do Here?
From the squad page you can:
● Access the list of players in your squad along with their details
● Invite people to join your squad
● View your players’ latest activity on​Player+
● View your players’ current fitness levels
● Group your players into squad sub-groups for custom event and fitness programing

6. Invite players to join your squad
In order to fully benefit from ​Coach+ and interact with your squad, you need to invite your
players to create an account on Rugbycentric ​Player+ ​and then join your squad via a
password protected squad page.
1. In the squad section click on ​“Invite Players”
2. Create a squad page with a name, description and password
3. Once your group is created click on ​“Link to share” ​and send the URL to your players
along with the password. Tell them to create an account on Rugbycentric​Player+​and
then join the squad thanks to the URL and password.
4. In “​My Squad​”, press the “​Update/Refresh​” button to import any new players into your
squad as they join your squad page.

7. Squad Feed
The Squad feed list all the recent activities of your squad members on Rugbycentric ​Player+​.
Nothing will appear in this section if you do not have ​Player+ members in your squad. You will
be able to keep track of any training they are doing in their own time.

8. Squad Fitness
The Squad fitness section gives you an overview of your players’ current fitness levels (speed,
endurance, strength). Nothing will appear in this section if you do not have ​Player+ members
in your squad. Once your players complete tests from the Player+ test battery you will see
them begin to build a rating in each category.

9. Squad Well-Being
Player+ prompts members to fill-in a daily
well-being questionnaire. The cleanest output
of this daily questionnaire is a traffic light
warning system that indicates what
intervention, if any, should be made. Whether
the player is fully fit (green), is showing signs
of fatigue, soreness or other well-being issues
and would be worth checking in with (orange)
or the player is showing serious signs
suggesting the need for an intervention,
whether the night off training or a more in depth discussion about their lifestyle and
well-being.
On this page you can monitor each of your squad members’ well-being and manage your
squad training load accordingly. In addition you are able to drill down into the details behind
each player’s traffic light score, should you want to know more.

10. Squad Groups
In Squad groups you can divide your squad into several groups. One player can be placed into
several groups. This grouping system is especially relevant later on when programming
workouts or events - i.e. a workout can be scheduled to all squad members or to the
members of a single group only.
1. Click on create a group
and give your new group a
name

you want to add to the group and
click ‘add’

11. Fixtures Section
Overview
The fixture section controls all the information related to the teams and fixtures.
What Can I Do Here?
From the fixture section you can:
● Create and edit teams including you team and the team in your league
● Create and edit fixtures
● Create and edit team line-up sheets
Teams
The first step you have to go through in the fixture section is to create a list of teams.
Typically, this list include the team you are coaching as well as all the teams you will play
against during the season.
A team is defined by its country,
name, club, code, league, age group
and sex.
We maintain our own database of
clubs (with club address, logo, etc.)
and it is not yet complete. Ping us
an email upon sign-up so that we
can enter your club and the clubs in
your league in our database.

12. Once a team is created it goes into your team list. Teams can be removed or edited at any
time.

13. Fixtures
Once you have at least two teams in your team list you can start creating fixtures.
A fixture is defined by the
two different teams, a date
and optionally a team sheet
and a Google map. One of the
two teams involved is
marked as being the one
‘analysed’.
Once your fixtures are created, they appear in your fixture list and can be edited at any time.
When clicking on the loop icon you can also edit the score and add/edit a text note that will be
visible by your players if you schedule the fixture in their calendar.

Team Sheets
Team sheets are easily created
by drag and dropping your
players pictures into their
position on the rugby pitch. The
system support all three rugby
codes (Union, League, Sevens).
Once created the team sheets
can be attached to a fixture and
then later sent to the squad or
used in the video analysis report.

15. Strength & Conditioning Section
Overview
The S&C section helps you create workouts that you will then be able to schedule for your
squad. The workouts will appear in your players calendar on ​Player+​.
Workout Builder
Our workout builder - also called
“shopper” - lets you filter exercises
(by training type, body parts and
equipment) to then add them into
your ‘cart’. Custom exercises can
also be created and added.
Once you have selected the
exercises you want, the second
step involves defining sets,
reps, rest times and supersets.
Additional text notes can added
at workout or exercise level.

16. Scheduling Section
Overview
The scheduling section lets you
schedule workouts, fitness tests and
fixtures for your players. Once sent,
they will appear in your players
calendar on ​Player+​.
Scheduling Workouts and Fitness Tests
1. Select one of your squad group or select “all groups”
2. Select the name of your workout or fitness test
3. Pick a date with our datepicker interactive calendar.
4. Click on “​Schedule​”.
The event will appear in your calendar in a colour
that indicates that it is scheduled but not yet been sent to
the players. If the event has been scheduled for several
groups (i.e. when scheduled for ‘all groups’) it will appear
several times in the calendar.
5. Click on “​Send to new players​”
On sent the event will turn into a different colour, usually green.

17. Scheduling Fixtures
The date of a fixture is already defined in the fixture section of the application. The only
option there is therefore, is to send the fixture to the players. Once the fixture is sent, every
update on the fixture section will be reflected on the players’ calendars. You can thus create a
fixture with the correct date, send it to your players and later edit the Google map or the text
note.

18. Video Analysis Section
Overview
This section enables you to upload your match videos and perform a simple yet
comprehensive video analysis. The objective of this analysis is to generate collective and
individual statistics and be able to review the match video while focusing on certain areas.

We are currently rewriting the code for our video analysis tool. We are reviewing the system in
depth and we hope to release a new, more powerful version by late February/early March.
Video Upload
First you will need to upload your match video. The
upload speed will depend on your internet bandwidth
so try to perform this wherever you have a good
internet connection. Upload times can vary from a
few minutes to several hours depending on the
quality of your internet connection. If someone in
your team as access to fiber optics internet,
delegate the upload to him or her!
Automatic Video Encoding
Once uploaded the videos are automatically encoded for the web so that they can be
streamed and watched over the internet.

19. Video Analysis Creation
In order to create a new video
analysis you need to have created
at least one fixture. Each video
analysis is attached to a fixture as
well as to one or two videos.
Video Analysis List
Once created the video analysis appear in a list. For each video analysis four buttons let you:
● Watch the video analysis
● Perform the video analysis tagging
● Display the video analysis report
● Suppress the video analysis

20. Tagging Collective and Individual Actions
As of today, our tagging system is fairly simple: as you watch the video of your game (using
our HTML5 online video player) you can tag collective and individual actions of your team as
they happen on the video. For an individual action to be accounted for, you need to first select
the number of the player concerned.
Coming Soon
In the next release of our video analysis tool, we will introduce the concept of sequences of
play. Ball possession and territory occupation will also be taken into account . Finally, the
tagging options will be displayed intelligently depending on game context.

21. Match Review
Once the tagging is done, you can review the game and choose a specific collective or
individual action.

of the game stats can be
generated and shared with the
players.
Sharing the Video Analysis
The video analysis can easily be shared online with the privacy option of restricting its access
