BEYOND the SIGNS
5. people followed him because
THEY SAW THE SIGNS he had
performed by healing the
sick. 3 Then Jesus went up
on a mountainside and sat
down with his disciples. 4
The Jewish Passover Festival
was near.
John
6:
1-4
7. him, he said to Philip, “Where
shall we buy bread for these
people to eat?” 6 He asked
this only to test him, for HE
ALREADY HAD IN MIND what he
was going to do.
John
6:
5-6
Our GOD is concerned about our
physical and earthly NEEDS.
Our GOD is in control
8. A BITE!”
8 Another of his disciples,
Andrew, Simon Peter’s
brother, spoke up,
9 “Here is a BOY with five
small barley loaves and two
small fish, but HOW FAR
WILL THEY GO among so
many?”
John
6:
7-9
9. Jesus is never limited
on our limitations.
Our GOD is the God of
Impossible.
With GOD the impossible will happen if we too are
willing to GIVE anything that we have.
10. (about five thousand men
were there). 11 JESUS THEN
TOOK THE LOAVES, gave
thanks, and distributed to
those who were seated AS
MUCH AS THEY WANTED. He did
the same with the fish.
John
6:
10-11
11. Our GOD is a
lavish God.
He is the GOD of
more than enough.
God will do the impossible thing, but first LET
US GIVE UP ANYTHING to Him and allow Him to
do MIRACLES IN OUR LIVES.
12. his disciples, “GATHER THE
PIECES THAT ARE LEFT OVER.
Let nothing be wasted.” 13
So they gathered them and
filled twelve baskets with
the pieces of the five
barley loaves left over by
those who had eaten.
John
6:
12-13
13. JESUS is a good
STEWARD of resources.
God’s ways are higher that our WAYS.
What will Jesus do with the 12
baskets full of leftover?
God is concerned to us not
only during Sunday but
everyday of our lives.
14. is the Prophet who is to
come into the world.” 15
Jesus, knowing that they
intended to come and make
him king by force, withdrew
again to a mountain by
himself.
John
6:
14-15
15. Bread for the Israelites is LIFE.
They want Jesus to be their
BREADWINNER.
They want Him to be their King
but to be controlled.
Sometimes we had wanted a GOD but still WE WANTED TO
BE IN CONTROL OF OUR LIVES.
19. Jesus had not entered with
His disciples into the boat,
but that His disciples had
gone away alone. 23 There
came other small boats
from Tiberias near to the
place where they ate the
bread after the Lord had
given thanks.
John
6:
22-23
20. 24 So when THE CROWD saw that Jesus
was not there, nor His disciples, they
themselves got into the small boats,
and came to Capernaum SEEKING
JESUS. 25 When they found Him on the
other side of the sea, they said to Him,
“Rabbi, when did You get here?”
Why are you at CHURCH today?
21. Jesus answered them and
said, “Truly, truly, I say
to you, you seek Me, not
because you saw signs, but
because YOU ATE OF THE
LOAVES AND WERE FILLED.
John
6: 26
25. 27 Do not work for food that
spoils, but for food that
endures to ETERNAL LIFE, which
the SON OF MAN will give you.
For on him God the Father has
placed his seal of approval.”
John
6: 27
27. 28 Then they asked him,
“What must we do to do the
works God requires?” 29
Jesus answered, “The work
of God is this: to believe
in the ONE he has sent.”
John
6:
28-29
28. that we may see it and
believe you? What will you
do? 31 Our ancestors ate
the manna in the
wilderness; as it is
written: ‘He gave them
bread from heaven to eat.’
John
6:
30-31
29. you the bread from heaven,
but it is my FATHER who
gives you the TRUE BREAD
FROM HEAVEN. 33 For the
bread of God is the bread
that comes down from HEAVEN
and gives LIFE to the
world.”
John
6:
32-33
30. “Sir,” they said, “always
give us this bread.”
35 Then Jesus declared, “I AM
THE BREAD OF LIFE. Whoever
comes to me will never go
hungry, and whoever believes
in me will never be thirsty.
