1. Lesson Plan
I find the flipped classroom instructional strategy a positive model that is
impacting education. In preparing for final exams, students are to use their mobile
devices to create a just-in-time tutorial to review a prior concept learned.
Lesson Title: Final Exam Video Review
Lesson Description: Students will work in pairs to create a just-in-time video on one of
The review topics indicated on the Google site. The video must include an
overview of the topic and an easy and medium level problem. Students must
upload video and send it to me.
How to access: Students will log on to the Google site and click the instruction video to
review. A student can access this using any mobile device.
Estimated Completion Time: Student will have one week to complete the JIT video.
Steps for Completion: Each group will be assigned a topic. Students will work together
an create a script identifying the subject matter and any important information
about the topic. Students will create two problems applying the topic and
showing the steps in solving. Each pair will create a video using a mobile device
(cell phone or IPad) and any recording software (i.e. QuickTime or Jing). Each
pair will then submit the video to my email address.
Opportunity for feedback: Prior to the creating the video, each pair must run through the
problems they chose and I must check for correctness. If an answer is incorrect, I
will provide insight on the errors.
