What can I do for you?
As my studies, "Scheepswerktuigkunde" are quite uncommon, here are some of my capacities::
Bediende:
Only in English or French - I can communicate orally in Dutch, not write it.
• Word, Excel and GPS (Garmin and Tomtom experience).
• Metering and plans of existing structures with Autocad (10years+)
• Creating new plans applying instructions with Autocad (10years+).
• Fluent in English, French and Spanish.
• Worked as an commercial architect in France and Spain.
• Worked as an industrial designer for Meyvaert.
Arbeider:
Fabriek:
3 summers of work in factories in Oost Vlaanderen:
• Packing, loading moving stuff around with manual or mechanical trolleys.
• Not putting myself or others at risk using basic knowledge of chemistry and UN IMDG
codes (the lozenges on chemical containers) + fire fighting (basic/advanced).
Bouw:
I have renovated 2 houses and a flat - but never professionally:
• Plastering: traditional method (slow) but I think I can adapt fast to projected plaster.
• Drywall structure and laying (Gispkarton) in wood.
• Brickwork: repairing walls (replacing old cement on exterior walls).
• Injecting waterproofing gels (and not wasting any - very expensive).
• Insulation (Rockwool, foam etc).
• Electrical cabling and plugs (but not the electrical box).
• Painting and basic paper hanging.
Electro:
I can do most manual jobs (or learn them fast) but I cannot create or design. I have done Uni
workshops, a few small personal projects and I am renovating a damaged Osciloscoop:
• Soldering components on boards following a circuit diagram.
• General failed component finding (repairs).
• Understanding of AC/DC motors.
• Understanding of magnets and windings.
Engines:
I can take apart, change parts and rebuild for simple problems: I have done Uni workshops,
repaired 50cc engines, basic repairs on old car engines and small portable generators. I am a
"beginner" but I have a good general understanding and will ask questions before breaking
expensive parts.
• Filter changes on ships.
• Other small repairs on ABC marine engines.
Others:
• Welding (evening classes).
• Photography and Photoshop.
Sincerely,
Gildas Dubois
