1. I am a doctoral candidate *(PhDc) in epidemiology residing in Miami, Florida, with a focus
in HIV/ infectious disease and chronic diseases/health education and disease prevention. I am
currently in the interview process for epidemiology/health policy analyst and CRA positions in
the Miami/South Florida area.
I have a prior masters of education degree (MEd) in Health Promotion and Education, and
an undergraduate B.S. degree in Marketing, with double minors in French and international
business.
I have prior research and work-related experience in the areas of HIV/STD
prevention/cognitive behavioral interventions; HIV among renal replacement therapy (RRT)
patients, co morbid conditions among HIV and RRT patients (CHD, HCV, HBV); metabolic
syndrome/diabetes, minority health/health disparities in the U.S. and abroad; and the field of
health policy epidemiology, particularly as it relates to the effects of racial and income
inequalities on health.
Additionally, I have advanced statistical analysis training in SAS 9.2, STATA 9.2, MPLUS
(structural equation modeling) and SPSS 18.0. I have used SAS 9.2 EG (enterprise guide) for my
doctoral dissertation analyses working with 2 large international renal heath registries.
I am also a certified virtual instructor and have done a great deal of work in online course
instruction, design, and implementation.
