9. KEY ELEMENTS
Intramedullary T2 hyperintense signal in the setting of symptoms of
acute cord compression is an urgent finding and probably indicates
acute cord edema and ischemia
11. CASE 1
Tingling and numbness in both hands and right leg. Lhermitte's
phenomenon with neck extension. 4/5 weakness in finger abduction
and reduced pinprick sensation in medial forearm (right more than
left). Upgoing right plantar response.
This patient had predominantly sensory symptoms with mild motor
deficits and was referred to neurosurgical services for their opinion
on decompression.
13. CASE 2
Three months history of progressive weakness of the lower limbs

Axial T1
Straightening of the cervical lordosis. Diffuse degenerative changes characterized by vertebral bodies' osteophytes and intervertebral discs desiccation and loss of height. The spinal canal is diffusely narrowed. Disc bulges at C3/4, C4/5, and C5/6, as well as disc central protrusion at C6/7, are compressing the CSF space anteriorly and indenting the spinal cord, in special at C3/4 and C4/5, where there are focal areas of T2 hyperintensities within the spinal cord.
