Freedom Communications is a national, privately owned information and entertainment company
of print publications and interactive businesses. Headquartered in Santa Ana, California, the
company has an impressive portfolio that includes information and entertainment websites,
magazines and other specialty publications, daily and weekly newspapers, radio, and mobile
applications.
THE PROBLEM
Freedom Communications is the parent company
of over 30 different companies that encompass a
variety of media markets. When they turned to
Main Graphics for help, a single staff member was
handlingtheworkofcreatingallofthecompanies’
marketing proposals and sales offers. The activity
this process entailed was minor—usually just a
few edits to general collateral. Nonetheless, the
sheer volume of document requests resulted in
slow and often delayed turnaround times. That
meant that when sales representatives came
across a prospective client, they had to submit a
request and wait 5-7 days before they could send
their proposal to the prospect. That was a delay
they could scarcely afford in such a competitive
field.
THE SOLUTION
Main Graphics put an end to the wait times and
bottlenecks by setting up an internal portal for
the sales reps to use. The portal we developed
enables sales reps to create promotions and
other materials that are tailored for their
particular market, whether it’s TV, newspaper,
radio, etc. Once they login, any document they
choose is automatically customized for their
needs and includes the appropriate logo and
company-specific information. The only thing
left for them to do is add the correct dollar
amount and payment terms, download the
document, and email it to the sales prospect
for review and signature.
THE OUTCOME
The result? What previously took as much as a
week now happens in minutes. Using the portal
we developed, Freedom Communications’
sales reps can produce, share, and complete
agreements on their own, in a single day. In
addition, the employee whose days had been
consumed with generating these materials
now has the time to focus on larger creative
projects. The bottom line? Our portal gave
Freedom Communications the ability to finalize
more deals, more quickly and has helped them
continue to grow and prosper.
What previously took as much as a week now happens
in minutes. Using the portal we developed, Freedom
Communications’ sales reps can produce, share, and
complete agreements on their own, in a single day.
