5. GeoS-3/3M: GLONASS/GPS/SBAS OEM board
There are two types of OEM modules in different form-factors:
GeoS-3 (22.1х15.9х2.8 mm) and GeoS-3M (14.3х13.7х2.6 mm).
Both types have the same IO signals, functionality, specifications, and data
protocols
ERA-GLONASS and eCall ready.
Current status and plans:
GeoS-3: mass production – May 2012
GeoS-3M: engineering samples – May 2012, mass production – Sep 2012
Certification after mass production:
1. Standard AEC-Q100 Grade 3 (+85 °C), which developed by the Technical Committee of the
Automotive Electronics Council for Automotive (AEC, organized by Chrysler, Ford, and General
Motors).
2. Standard ISO/TS16949 «Automotive Quality Management Certification», which developed by
International Auto Task Force (IATF).
3. GOST 50905-96 “VEHICLES. ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT. GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS”
which developed by the Russian’s certification system.
4. PATTERN APPROVAL CERTIFICATE OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS. 5

7. Power saving modes
RELAXED FIX®
The mode features periodical switching between ACTIVE and SLEEP states.
• Settings are done via serial port
• The module acknowledges about its state via PD_ACK pin and RS232
messages
• Benefits: reduced power consumption. Example: “ACTIVE”:”SLEEP” duty cycle
1:10 yields 10mA average current vs. 59mA active (typical)
FIX-BY-REQUEST®
The mode can be used when fixes are acceptable on “as requested” basis.
• The module moves to ACTIVE state on Host request
• The requests could be done via PD pin or RS232 messages
• Settings are done via serial port
• The module acknowledges about its state via PD_ACK pin and RS232 messages
• Benefits: the module is active only when position data is actually required by
Host; TTFF is significantly reduced
