Chelsea lost 1-0 to Aston Villa, with Fabian Delph scoring the winning goal in the 82nd minute. Chelsea ended the game with nine men after Willian and Ramires were sent off. Manager Jose Mourinho was also dismissed after the final whistle. The loss drops Chelsea's lead in the Premier League title race and raises further questions about referee Chris Foy, who has sent off six Chelsea players in his last eight games officiating them.

Late Villa goal leaves Blues no time to recover; title lead drops
Underdogs Aston Villa upset Premier League leaders Chelsea Saturday evening with a late-winner delivered by
midfielder Fabian Delph with just 8 minutes remaining in the game.
Chelsea, who ended the game down to nine men, were unable to respond and lost the match at Villa Park, 1-0,
putting their Premier League title race in jeopardy.
The game's referee, Chris Foy, has sent off six Chelsea players in the last eight games he has refereed them.
Midfielder Willian was sent off in the 69th minute after a brief hold on Delph prompted a second, debatable
yellow from Foy.
Midfielder Ramires saw red after stamping on Villa player Karim El Ahmadi in stoppage time.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, who said he just wanted to speak to the referee, was sent to the stands
immediately after Ramires' red with just under a minute left in playing time.
After the game, Mourinho insisted he would “prefer to not comment” as he would find himself “in trouble”, but
the outspoken Chelsea boss couldn't completely stay quiet, saying “the referee has a good life, he goes home and
is free of everything”.
Villa defender Nathan Baker was the first player to be carded 6 minutes in after a malicious tackle on Chelsea
forward Fernando Torres, who is just back from injury.
Chelsea out-played The Villains for most of the first half of the relatively fast-paced game, maintaining well over
half the possession time and regularly winning challenges for the ball against the seemingly out-matched Villa
players. Shots on goal by Torres and Willian went awry and a goal by Eden Hazard in the 41st
minute was
disallowed for a handball against midfielder Nemanja Matic, and both teams ended the first half with a clean
sheet.
Plagued by individual mistakes and poor team play, Chelsea gradually lost their hold on the match as Villa
stepped up their game in the second half.
A sidefooted attempt by midfielder Oscar in the 61st
minute was easily gathered by Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan,
and a header by Torres into the box 64 minutes in found no Chelsea player around to capitalise.
Mourinho soon substituted Torres and Oscar for forwards Andre Schurrle and Demba Ba.
Villa were finally rewarded with a goal in the 82nd
minute after a cross by midfielder Marc Albrighton was neatly
backheeled into the bottom righthand corner by Delph.
The Villains played with more confidence after the goal than the entire game before it; Albrighton, Delph and
their teammates managed to maintain possession and kept Chelsea at arm's length until the final whistle.
Chelsea had gone undefeated for 14 straight Premier League games before Saturday's upset.
