As#the#general#manager#of#Belize#Aquaculture#Ltd#(BAL),#I#had#the#pleasure#
of#working#with#Mme.#Gayot#for#just#over#a#year.#Isabelle#was#employed#as#
manager#for#both#the#ESMS#(environmental#&#social#management#systems)#
and#HR#(human#resources)#for#the#company#from#March#2012,#a#position#
she#held#when#I#left#the#company#in#June#2013.#

During#this#time,#BAL#went#from#a#small#startRup#business#of#less#than#100#
people#to#a#3,000#MT#intensive#shrimp#aquaculture#operation#employing#
more#than#500#people#at#the#peak#of#the#processing#season.#In#that#short#
time#BAL#achieved#three#star#BAP#(Best#Aquaculture#Practices)#certification#
(the#only#Belizean#business#to#achieve#that#level#and#the#second#one#in#
Central#America)#and#undertook#a#GAP#analysis#for#the#WWF#sponsored#
Aquaculture#Stewardship#Council#certification#program;#Isabelle#played#an#
critical#role#in#leading#both#the#human#resource#and#the#environmental#
impact#components#of#the#business#through#this#time#of#very#high#stress.#
#
During#the#time#we#worked#together#I#found#Isabelle#to#be#thoughtful,#
considerate,#reliable#and#intelligent.#She#handled#the#demands#of#managing#
two#departments#with#patience#and#a#cool#head,#qualities#that#are#often#
difficult#to#marshal#in#developing#nations.#

In#summary,#I#would#unreservedly#recommend#Isabelle#for#a#management#
position#in#both#HR#and#environment#roles.#
