Thank you for becoming an O2O Employer Partner. We
are pleased and honored that you have committed to
interviewing military service members and spouses for
available positions within your company.
The purpose of this guide is to provide you with an
overview of what you can expect from O2O after you have
signed on as an O2O Employer Partner. There are a few
key activities and individuals that we would like to make
you aware of to ensure a streamlined matching process
for you and our program participants. This will enable
you to engage with program participants as your time
and resources allow.
Once you commit to interviewing graduates of the O2O program, you will be contacted by a
representative from Hire Heroes USA, IVMF (Institute for Veterans and Military Families at
Syracuse University), or Hiring our Heroes via email, requesting that you complete an employer
questionnaire.
This questionnaire helps us to understand your current hiring practices and procedures, and the
level at which you and your company would like to be engaged in other aspects of the program. The
questionnaire also requests a local point of contact near participating installations.
It is important that you complete this in detail, including information on the types of positions
you’re recruiting for, hiring timelines, locations of the positions, and any specific interview protocol
that interviewees should observe.
Once you’ve completed the employer questionnaire, the O2O Coordinator at
Hire Heroes USA will schedule a conference call with your appointed HR representative. The
purpose of this call is to learn about your company’s application and interviewing processes so
we can better prepare O2O participants.
Along with your commitment to interviewing graduates of the O2O program, we ask that your
company establish an internal point of contact to work with Hire Heroes USA regarding the
placement of candidates in interview opportunities.

O2O, and will serve as your primary point of contact for providing access
to a qualified, high-caliber talent pipeline. The sections below outline what
you can expect from Hire Heroes USA and O2O as part of our partnership.

Hire Heroes USA’s goal is to meet your talent needs and provide you with committed and
qualified candidates! Once Hire Heroes USA has collected the necessary information about
your company, we will begin matching O2O graduates with your open positions.
When matching O2O graduates, Hire Heroes USA will review the candidate’s resume, evaluate
their job preferences, and match them with the opportunities indicated by O2O Employer
Partners on their Employer Fact Sheets. Pending the employer’s preferences, Hire Heroes USA
may also search for publically available opportunities on behalf of our program graduates.
Hire Heroes USA will notify the candidate of their matches and explain the application or
interview protocol. After we have identified a match for a position in your company, the
application instructions collected during the employer questionnaire will be followed.
To ensure that Hire Heroes USA is supplying qualified candidates and consistently improving
the program, we will regularly follow up with you on each candidate’s status. Hire Heroes USA
understands your employment needs will change over time, and we want to ensure that we are
both adjusting our program to fit your needs and preparing O2O job candidates appropriately.
On a monthly basis, the O2O program will distribute a newsletter to keep employer partners
apprised of program activities, local networking events with our cohorts, cohort launches,
success stories, and other engagement opportunities with program candidates. Our employer
partners are encouraged to review these opportunities and reach out to Hire Heroes USA if they
are interested in getting connected with a cohort at a specific installation.
Attached to that newsletter will be an O2O Resume Book, which includes resumes for all O2O
candidates seeking employment. This book will allow employers to identify candidates that
may be a fit for other opportunities at their companies. Employers are encouraged to directly
contact any candidates of interest.
