EOLAS is the annual journal for the American Society of Irish
Medieval Studies (ASIMS). This peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary
journal provides a platform for fostering and publicizing the work
of scholars around the world who believe that medieval Ireland is
essential for understanding the medieval world at large. The mis-
sion of ASIMS is to develop Irish medieval studies as an academic
discipline in North America and foster innovative trans-Atlantic
collaborations. Eolas publishes work by respected and innovative
scholars across the field of medieval studies as well as book re-
views, the Farrell Lectures delivered annually at the International
Medieval Congress, Kalamazoo, brief notices on a wide range of
Irish and Celtic subjects, and formal notices of the activities of
ASIMS, including the Adams and Barry prizes.
Individuals are encouraged to subscribe by joining ASIMS via the
society website: www.asims.org: $50 regular members, $30 lectur-
er/part-time faculty, $20 students. Membership includes access
to Eolas and the Irish Collection on JSTOR.
