Curt I. Civin, the director of the Center for Stem Cell Biology & Regenerative Medicine, is asking for financial contributions to support the center's research into using stem cells to develop treatments for various diseases. The center hopes to use stem cell research to revolutionize how diseases like sickle cell anemia, heart failure, Parkinson's disease, cancer, blindness and more are diagnosed and treated. Those wishing to donate should make checks out to the UMB Foundation and note it is for the Stem Cell Center.
