2.  I have had to learn to use a range of different media technologies and
multi media platforms through my research, planning, evaluation
and construction.
 Firstly, my research and planning was mainly done via search engone
of Google. This allowed me to see millions of websites that had
information that I needed and could access to gain more knowledge
and ideas for my own productions.
 I was able to use Google images and Getty images to find examples of
posters and film websites such as http://www.gonegirlmovie.com
which all helped me to learn codes and conventions of each product
as well as the thriller genre that I was focusing on, IMDB was also a
website that was helpful.
 I also used this search engine to find a exquisite font as the ones on a
standard desktop were not fulfilling my genre needs. After
researching numerous font websites I found the perfect font from
www.dafont.com which I used on my poster and trailer.

3.  During making my ancillary tasks my skills were tested as numerous
technologies needed to be used which I had little or no knowledge of
using. For example I have to use Photoshop, fireworks and inDesign in
order to create the perfect poster. I also needed to use YouTube to find
tutorials and information on which tools where what in order to be
successful in this making of my product. Although I had some experience
in these programs from year 12 I was not competent and this platform of
YouTube media really helped.
 I also used a new program ‘wix editor’ in order to make my own website
which proved challenging but after playing around with the tools I
quickly grasped what I was doing. I was able to quickly personalize a
template and adapt it to make the website look how I wanted it to. For
example, font, images, videos and colour scheme.
 I was also able to add links to my social media sites: Facebook, Twitter
and YouTube as this is key to promoting the film and keeping the
audience connected and constant feedback. This was easy to work and
adapt new ideas to to make it my own.

4.  At AS I had to use Photoshop to create my own magazine and therefore
in the second year of A2 I had my skills advanced, and this made it easier
to make my ancillary poster. This made it possible for me to important a
new font and made editing much easier than before. However there was
some tools I did not know how to use, and this meant I needed to use
tutorials to help myself.
 I also needed to use a wide range of presentation products than at AS, to
make the presentation laid out in a much more professional manor and
so that it is set out properly and structured.
 I used programs such as mindmeister, Prezi presentations, Emaze
presentations, screenshots/ photos, PowerPoint's and also sound cloud
uploads. These different media technologies helped with construction,
research, planning and evaluation and also have shown that I can use
multi media products.
 I also used youtube and social networking sites to present my work, gain
feedback and reach my target audience.

5.  In creating my film trailer I also had to use iMovie and premiere as well
as adobe after effects to actually create and edit my trailer. I played
around with after effects but decided not to add any special effects as my
thriller did not need any CGI added.
 iMovie was much easier for me to use than adobe premiere and due to
this I created my trailer in iMovie before transferring it to adobe premiere
to make final touchups.
 I filmed the footage on my iPhone 5s and this meant the quality was very
average. This meant that I needed to touch up some of the footage’s
brightness, tone and also adding effects.
 A lot of my footage needed to have music, or a voiceover put on top of it
and this was easy to put on on iMovie but I needed premiere to fade the
music out.

6.  Overall, the use of media technologies in the construction and
research, planning and evaluation stages was vast and I learnt to
use a large amount of programs such as: photoshop, premiere,
iMovie, emaze, prezi presentation, wix editor and many more.
These have made the stages leading up to my production and the
final production itself successful.
