If the movie were to display objects with visible brand names, the brand
could sue them if they were not happy with having their name on
display in ‘The Descent’ or they could just tell the editors to to remove
the brand name. If the film had music or pictures which it was not
allowed to use, it could also have legal issues with the owners however
they can always ask for permission to use other people’s creations in
their film in order to avoid complaints. There is also the issue of
mentioning brand names and/or specific people’s names verbally
although this is not a problem if they are used in a good context and the
producers are unlikely to get done for it. The producers themselves
brand the film in order to show that it is their creation and so nobody
else can argue they own it. The companies involved in creating it can use
this film against other companies if they were to reference or show it as
they may not have the right to do so.
