1. The Two Sons
Jesus illustrated the importance of
backing up what we say with our actions
in His classic parable of the two sons.
I due figli
Gesù ha illustrato l’importanza di
confermare le nostre parole con i fatti nella
sua famosa parabola dei due figli.

2. “There was a man who had two sons.
He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go
and work today in the vineyard.’
«Un uomo aveva due figli e rivolgendosi al
primo disse: “Figlio, va’ oggi a lavorare nella
mia vigna”.

3. ‘I will not,’ he answered,… I figlio rispose e disse: “Non voglio”.

4. but later he changed his mind and went. Più tardi però, pentitosi, vi andò.

5. Then the father went to the other son and
said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will
go, sir,’…
Poi, rivoltosi al secondo gli disse la
stessa cosa. Ed egli rispose e disse:
“Sì, lo farò signore”,

6. but he did not go.” (Matthew 21:28-30) ma non vi andò». (Matteo 21:28–30)

7. Although the eldest son disobeyed in the
beginning, he later had a change of heart
and did his father’s bidding. The second
son’s promise to obey his father turned
out to be worthless, because he didn’t
keep it.
Anche se a parole il primo figlio
all’inizio disubbidì, in seguito cambiò
idea e fece ciò che il padre voleva. La
promessa del secondo figlio di ubbidire
a suo padre si rivelò vana, perché non
la mantenne.

8. John tells us in his first
epistle, “Dear children, let
us not love with words or
speech but with actions
and in truth.” (1 John 3:18)

and principles—and daily
put them into action.
