INFECTION PREVENTION CONTROL AND WATER, SANITATION HYGIENE (IPC/WASH)
COORDINATOR, The Mentor INITIATIVE

• Lead implementing and coordinating roles and responsibilities in the
WASH / infrastructures of health facilities. To achieve this objective the
incumbent will perform the following general duties and responsibilities.
• Performs assessment of infrastructure in health facilities, and make
recommendations on the possible options for improvement.
• In coordination with health facilities staff develops the design and
construction of new triage /isolation facilities and the modification
/rehabilitation of existing building, latrines, bath rooms with particular focus
on infection prevention control and WASH.
• Perform WASH assessment of the health facilities, water source in the
identified communities, and makes recommendations on the possible options
for new construction / rehabilitation /repair, generate bill of quantities for
proposed works.
• Supervises and manage the construction of water supply system (including
borehole /well construction or rehabilitation etc) ,hazardous waste
infrastructure (Ash pits , placental pits, and incinerators ) at the existing
functional Facilities, Triage /isolation facilities at primary health Facility
• Coordination and Representation in the overall WASH/ infrastructures
rehabilitation response activities in the county, including adherence to agreed
standard and operational guidelines and terms of references of WASH cluster
