We reduced our refresh cycle from weeks to days
• Implemented a VMware Operations & Monitoring tool
To achieve optimal (& automated) load balancing & guest sizing, and guest
awareness
• Significantly reduced HW CAPEX spend
Simplified our Data Center by significantly reducing Server count
• Best Practices adjustments based on frequent reviewed lessons learned and
simplified patching and upgrade procedures for applications, DB’s and OS’s –
POC builds are simple and translate into a faster deployment cycle
• All new Server requests are virtual deployments --- virtualizations
provided us sufficient capacity to adjust our server approach - allowing us to
leverage “SAP’s LVM Capacity on Demand” functionality
• We deployed a new DR solution which is application focused and no longer
volume based – we are replicating into a warm virtualized DR landscape – all
DR targets are in recovery mode and run in a “Pilot Light” configuration
