submitting their claims quickly and accurately. Claims Management performs extensive customer-specific
and payer-specific edits and routes HIPAA-compliant 837 transactions to payers. Its editing capability
allows claims to pass cleanly through the system, limiting the number of claims that billers are required to
handle. Claims Management also provides robust reporting and workflow to allow users to track their
claims through the entire submission cycle.

Description:
The X12 Rule Engine is set of tools and services that allow one to author, version, execute,query,
integrate, and react to rules written against an X12 EDI Document without requiring an in depth
knowledge of computer programming. Requiring only familiarity with web browsers from users, and
standard SOAP and HTTP messaging knowledge from IT/IS staff members, the X12 Rule Engine
provides powerful creation and deployment of rules with a modest learning curve.
Arule engine also aims to separate a user from the flow of execution of the rules via priority and
forward/backward chaining. When writing pure code, developers handle control flow and execution based
on requirements. Rule engines on the other handle control flow, execution and conflict resolution based
on its understanding of the declared rules. One can think of a rule engine as a “logic parser” that translates
a user’s intention into an action.
