Skills Profile
Expert in the archaeology of Sicily, actually I am working with the Institute of Fine Arts
(IFA) of New York on the Acropolis of Selinunte, with University of Augsburg on the S.
Anna sanctuary of Agrigento and with University of Palermo for survey and making
archaeological maps. My principal field of interest is in ancient topography. I'm
currently developing a research project on chora of Selinunte, a Greek colony in
western Sicily. My scientific and professional training in archaeological field, lets me
operate independently and with specialist skills in the context of archaeological
investigations on the field, surface exploration and on Museum exhibits not only in the
territorial context of Sicily but also in other, more extensive and diversified areas. The
application of methodologies acquired through the academic career and professional
experience gained over the years, I have helped to develop expertise and design skills
suitable for placement in public and private structures responsible for the protection,
management, use and enjoyment of the archaeological heritage. I have always
conducted with responsibility for archaeological research, from the preliminary survey
(analysis of sources and previous bibliography, preexisting emergency alerts) to real
action on the field (processing of archaeological excavations and maps). I edited
inventory activity, classifying, cataloguing of archaeological findings from
investigations on the ground, stored in warehouses of the Superintendencies,
museums and collections, according to national and regional standards, promoting
public enjoyment. Coordination for the realization of graphical documentation,
photographic and cartographic related sites and archaeological finds, even using
rapidly evolving technological tools. I've been following with attention, in recent years,
the development of useful design ideas to management and to protection (valorization
and exploitation) of the archaeological heritage, working with profit with associations,
foundations, cooperatives and companies active in the field of archaeological heritage
management. My goal is to work actively in the field of preventive archaeology so as to
facilitate and manage better, developing new solutions in conjunction with working
