Objective
My overall goal is to promote healthy diet and lifestyle in the Arab region and to support
communities in achieving nutritional and physical fitness standards. I am particularly interested in
conducting research projects related to obesity and chronic diseases in children and adolescents, and
endorsing obesity prevention in this category of population.

Clinical:
- Design nutritional plans and provide one-to-one advice on
healthy dietary habits for overweight and obese children and
adolescents attending the clinic.
- Perform bioelectrical impedance analysis.
- Guide surgical patients through their preoperative and
postoperative dietary regimen.
- Follow up surgical and nonsurgical patients’ nutritional status
throughout years.
Research:
- Took part in more than 10 different research studies conducted
on obese children and adolescents, as well as adult obese and
bariatric surgery patients.
Responsibilities included:
o Performing literature review for obesity-related studies.
o Collecting, managing, and analyzing data.
o Writing proposals.
o Submit IRB proposal for all studies.
o Interpreting results after data analysis.

o Nutritional deficiencies in obese children and
adolescents pre and post sleeve gastrectomy.
o Eating habits and portion sizes in Saudi obese children
and adolescents.
o Lifestyle and physical activity in school children and
adolescents.
o Food cravings in obese children and adolescents.
o Nutritional assessment, body fat and muscle
composition in obese children and adolescents before
and after bariatric surgeries.
Workshops and Conferences:
- Worked on workshops and presentations performed to women
and students in King Saud University promoting healthy eating,
portion sizes and physical activity for children.
- Performed monthly presentations for children and adolescents
and their mothers for preventing obesity through nutrition.
- Planned and scheduled an international conference on bariatric
surgery and nutritional consequences.
