ENGINEERING PROJECT
Ocean Floor Sediment Collector University of California Santa Cruz (Senior Project group of three)
The device modeled using SolidWorks and fabricated out of PVC to make it lightweight, portable, replaceable, and cost
effective. A standard scuba diving tank was used as a source of energy for creating vacuum to collect sediment from the
ocean floor and providing air pressure for the lift bag to bring the device back to the surface.
Design and build autonomous robot (Mechatronics Project)
Designed and built a stand-alone robot using SolidWorks and laser cutter capable of navigating through the specified

field, recognizing IR transmitted signal by the opponent, shooting opponent with ball, solving possible collision
problem, and exit the field though the specified gate
Ophthalmologist Arm Support for performing minor surgery (Individual Project)
The idea of designing the Arm Rest/Support came to mind when I was assisting an ophthalmologist. During surgery he
was resting his hand on the patient’s forehead; any slip of the hand would cause serious damage to the patient’s eyes. I
designed and fabricated an arm support with adjustable height and 180 degrees horizontal movement to enable the
surgeon to stabilize his hand during surgery. The device was made mostly out of aluminum sheet and PVC.
