Isabell Lee obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a concentration in Asian Studies from Harvey Mudd College. She has research experience determining water quality and synthesizing biomimetic compounds. She worked as a phonathon caller and manager, raising over $10,000. She co-founded and led a club exploring Pan-Asian culture, organizing well-attended events. She also served in leadership roles for Circle K International, organizing service projects.

EDUCATION
2012-2016 Harvey Mudd College, Claremont, CA
Bachelors of Science in Chemistry
Concentration in Asian Studies
Cumulative GPA: 3.5
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
September 2015 Water Quality Assessment
– present Hawkins Lab,Harvey Mudd College
Determine the quality of water used for irrigation in the
Bakersfield area by examining water for fracking markers.
Field samples are taken from several sites and quantitative
concentrations for compounds toxic to human life are
measured.
January 2014 Biomimetic Catalyst Research
– August 2015 Van Heuvelen Lab,Harvey Mudd College
Synthesized a novel biomimetic model compound of
Vitamin B12, [Co(TMC)Cl]Cl. Characterized with UV-vis, X-
ray crystallography, and elemental analysis. Compound
could dechlorinate tetrachloroethylene, an industrial
degreaser and common water pollutant. Developed
method for using solid-phase microextraction with GC-MS
to detect reaction products.
WORK EXPERIENCE
September 2012 Phonathon Caller and Manager
– present Harvey Mudd College
As a caller, reached out to alumni and parents of
students/alumni to update prospects about current events
of the college and engage interest in philanthropy. Raised
over $10,000 in primarily small gifts.
As a manager, oversaw shifts of five callers, conducted
weekly training sessions, and planned outreach methods.
LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
April 2014 Exploring Pan-Asian Identity and Culture
– present Harvey Mudd College
Identified the need on campus for the facilitation of cultural
events and co-founded a club to do so. Served as vice-
president ’14-’15 and president ’15-’16. Have organized
several events with over 10% of the student population
