- The Dutch economy grew 3.3% in 2017 and is expected to grow 3.1% in 2018, showing continued strong growth. However, donations as a percentage of GDP have declined, with people donating 0.96% of GDP to charity in 1998 but only 0.77% in 2015.
- In 2015, Dutch individuals and companies donated over 5 billion euros to charities, with 843 million going to international aid. Households donated 484 million and companies donated 106 million to international aid.
- New technologies like mobile payments and blockchain could increase transparency and convenience of donations by allowing people to donate easily on mobile devices and see where their donations are spent.

Contactless payments
People can pay now without pin requirement. This make it easy and fast to make
donations (i.e. on street or door-to-door) Also mobile phones make it convenient to
donate when and wherever they want.
Blockchain
A revolutionary new type of ledger for transactions that is owned and maintained by
all the users of the system rather than a single authority. This mean more
transparency as charities would allow you to see what path your donation took, from
giving to spending. However, still conceptual but could be very beneficial for both
donators and charities
14. • ANBI’s are fully exempt from Dutch gift tax on donations and inheritances
received.
• ANBI's are only subject to taxation to the extent that a business is being
conducted.
• Donors could deduct a gift to an ANBI to a maximum of 10 percent of the
annual taxable income.
• Businesses can deduct a gift to an ANBI with a maximum of 50 percent of its
annual profit or Euro 100,000.
• Official recognition of the organization as an ANBI.
