IV. Distribution & Marketing Goals
Distribution Goals
SugarTech’s most important goal is to find an easy-to-use and accessible platform to
begin marketing TaskCommander to its consumer-base. Considering the need for mobile
app’s usage from both manager and employee alike, aggregators such as Google Play Store
and Apple App Store will be used as Task Commander’s primary distribution method. The
Google Play and Apple App Store are the two largest aggregators in mobile app distribution
and are easily accessible to anyone owning an android or apple smartphone/device. iOS
and Android alone, make up an estimated 99.7% of the US smart-device market cap
(Statcounter). Both aggregators charge their developers a small upfront fee to apply their
mobile apps to their platforms but are generally affordable.
While the Apple App Store and Google Play take 30% of revenue generated from
sales of mobile apps, they are currently the most accessible distribution platforms for Task
Commander’s target consumer-base and their employees. Looking to the future, other
distribution methods such as website functionality or a web-based application mentioned
by Mr. Tolman, would further aid in Sugar Tech’s goals for Task Commander in accessibility
and general ease-of-use. Taking this all into account, SugarTech’s distribution goals are to
get Task Commander onto the Google Play and the Apple app store within 3 months of
operation and a website showcasing features of the app within 6 months of operation.
Distributing Task Commander through these aggregators allows Sugar Tech to accomplish
it’s goals of getting Task Commander into the hands of many consumers as quickly as
possible at a relatively low cost.
Marketing Goals
Currently, other large competitors such as Unolo and Landscape Maintenance Pro
create competition in finding and reaching Task Commander’s target consumers. For this
reason, Sugar Tech finds it to be a priority to market and advertise how Task Commander’s
functionality differentiates from Task Commander’s competitors to help it stand out from
the crowd. Most notably, how Task Commander is not tailored to any specific genre of
work. The app is designed to be multi-genre and general-purpose, supporting a robust and
intuitive communication and task dedication system between employee and manager alike.
Sugar Tech will build brand awareness around these aspects will help reach consumers
who can’t find a use for genre-specific apps like Landscape Maintenance Pro and or want to
have a more robust communication and task dedication system with their on-field
employees unlike apps such as Unolo.
Sugar Tech is currently looking into marketing Task Commander via social media
sites like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Sugar Tech believes that these forms of social
media will yield the highest attention from target markets and have the most potential to
8/7/22 7
create positive buzz around Task Commander’s launch. Marketing Task Commander’s
central features and useability among independent contractors in all fields of work will
help them understand and hopefully get hooked on Task Commander’s potential uses and
functionality for their work. Later, with the launch of Task Commander’s own website,
showcasing specific app features, guides on how to use the app and a web-based version of
Task Commander will further aid in consumers understanding of it’s potential value to
them and their employees. These goals should allow consumers to get accustomed to Task
Commander as a product and be known as a superior option for their business among
other competitor apps.

V. Target Markets
Primary Target Audience
The primary market is aimed towards married males, aged 29-35 in the greater Memphis,
TN. area. With 5.2% of the population being independent contractors and an
unemployment rate of around 7.5% makes it a market that embraces the independent
market. Quick access to Little Rock, AR and only a few hours from Central Tennessee and
Nashville ensures there is a plethora of work to be organized. These males are hard-
working, blue-collar technicians that specialize in running their own businesses. Most have
some college education and are moderately tech savvy and looking for an easier
management system. They have families so their time is extremely valuable to them. They
enjoy racing, live music, BBQ, and Beale St. The average income for them is $47,811.00. The
top 4 jobs for them include Owner Truck Driver, Local Owner Operator, FRAC Sand Owner
Operator.
Secondary Target Audience
Women aged 32-38 working in the maid and housekeeping industry based around
Memphis area (Memphis). Women make up 84% of the industry, meaning that they are
mothers of children and are looking for a faster more effective organization of jobs. Most
are high school graduates with about 12% holding Associates or higher. With housekeepers
retaining their job in corporate settings for less than a year on average coming in at 40%
showing a strong indication that independent cleaning would be optimal. The average
income is $25,053. Family oriented, their hobbies include children sporting events, social
gatherings with family and friends.

VI. Distribution - Year One:
Self-Distribution Plan
Brick and Mortar Outlets
Although still developing the Task Commander App, there will be a push for the local Brick
and Mortar stores who have a high contractor ratio.
-Cooper Freight – Memphis, TN local trucking company that can handle freight within a
500-mile radius regularly and has been in business since 1975. They do operate in the
lower 48 states but prefer to keep their drivers closer to home to be with their families.
This makes Cooper Freight an ideal candidate to utilize Task Commander. Downloadable
copies of the app will be available through the contractor accounts and advertising will be
marked on delivery trucks (Cooper Freight Inc, 2021).
-Onepiece Drywall & Paint – Memphis, TN is a local drywall company that has incredible
reviews from its customers. A small crew that can handle remodels and renovations with a
large community reach. Using multiple contractors Task Commander can help the
workflow to maintain their high standard and customer satisfaction (Onepiece). Task
Commander paint sticks, paint aprons, and shirts will be sold here.
-Memphis Landscape – Memphis, TN Landscape management company that handles all
your landscape and construction needs, as well as the maintenance on your landscape. A
company that provides a plethora of skills that utilizes many contractors makes Memphis
Landscape an ideal company to partner with (Who we are). With Memphis Landscape so
large, there will be a sponsorship where Task Commander will exchange app downloads
for advertising on all of Memphis Landscape signage left in customer yards.
Aggregator
The App Store by Apple will be one of 2 aggregator giants that will be used to launch the
Task Commander app. Since Mr. Tolman has much experience in developing, The App Store
can help complete, distribute, and market to over 1.5 billion devices. Focusing on a
concentrated area; targeting will be effective while still maintaining a universal reach with
the Apple App Store. With 5 separate platforms to distribute to including iOS, iPadOS,
watchOS, macOS, and tvOS there are many ways users can synchronize their lives and
schedules to make a better way of life. With App Stores Machine Learning, gathering, and
analyzing data will no longer be a daunting task. Task Commander will be accessible to all
Apple users and products. App Store also has small business incentive until 1 million is
reached, an extra 15% is paid on all apps and in app purchases (App Store).
The second aggregator that we will focus on is the Google Play store. The counterpart for
the Apple world, Google Play cleans up the rest of the world in Android users. Boasting a
reach of 2 billion users, it is no wonder why this tech giant will be used. Google Play has a
tremendous security system to keep the end user safe as well as Task Commander. They
10
have also developed new ways to help acquire and engage users and finding new ways to
boost revenue growth with their new subscription capabilities. Google Play has recently
overhauled the Device catalog helping to ease the understanding of the data collected.
Making monetization easier using sustained metrics. Also, real-time updating every 15
minutes ensures that Task Commander can get the latest updates to the end user faster and
more efficiently (2022).
Project Website
With Task Commander the suggestion of the procurement of www.CommandTheTask.com
for the landing page and all information that is Task Commander. From the moment a
contractor clicks on the link, they will be transported to a user experience like no other. An
array of organizational tools that will not only help manage scheduled jobs, but also
streamline the payment process.
The home landing page will inform the potential customer of how advanced Task
Commander is with the simplicity that anyone can understand. Some quick examples and
testimonials that will show the app in action.
The App Experience page will guide customers through a real-world scenario using the
app, the potential customer will be able to input minimal information to show its ability
right there on the site.
The ROI page will show how data metrics and analysis can improve their workflow and
increase profits. With real charts and real side by side comparisons of monthly use to show
in number format how beneficial Task Commander can be.
The payment acceptance page will ask for the sale and have download links readily
available. National Processing, a third-party payment processor, will be used to handle all
payments. With one of the highest rated customer service support systems available
customers can feel comfortable knowing each transaction will be successful.
Customer Relationship Management Systems
With the website development and traffic that will drive to the website from the app, the
use of a third-party developer Survey Sparrow shall conduct real-time research on the
actual customers that visit and use Task Commander. With the information gathered
through survey research Task Commander will use the customer to guide the apps
development to make it a seamless integration into their already busy lives making it
easier. Incentive programs will be used for those who help in the research surveys to
develop a long-lasting relationship.
There won’t always be happy suggestions, so with that also included is a section within the
survey and on the website for existing clients to voice their concerns over the app’s
performance. This information is just as, if not more important than the positive. With
8/7/22 11
every complaint and suggestion processed Task Commander will follow up with the
customer to ensure that the issue has been corrected.

VII. Distribution - Year Two:
Finding a Large Distributor or Publisher
Dreaming big, is reaching out for the stars. At SugarTech, our goal is to take
TaskCommander to the biggest distributor/publisher: Workday. Workday provides
financial management, human capital management, and analytics software to the world's
most prestigious corporations, educational institutions, and government agencies. The
mobile feature of the Workday experience is one of the most important characteristics.
Employees, supervisors, and recruiters can access information from their mobile, tablet, or
desktop devices at any time. Even better, Workday provides unlimited mobile access at no
extra cost. Workday is a cloud-based software company that specializes in human capital
management, corporate resource management, and financial management apps, so it
would be a fantastic fit for TaskCommander.
Other opportunity to growth, would be MGS Event. At MGS, they will bring together the
mobile industry's top experts and practitioners to deliver practical insights that any
organization can use to jumpstart growth. This event brings together thought leaders in
growth marketing, engagement, retention, monetization, data science, and analytics from
around the world. At social events, parties, and mixers, there will be opportunities to
network and broaden perspectives by meeting specialists, with the opportunity to form
long-term connections.

Pre-Release (June through August)
Strategy
During this time, we will set up press write up with major tech magazines
and enter Task Commander in different Tech Conferences to introduce the product and
create buzz in the market. Also give exclusive trial runs to select business to create buzz
through word of mouth. We will also select an aggregator to work with. In the months
leading to the launch of the mobile application of Task Commander- it would only make
sense to make sure that we are building the application, building brand awareness, and
building anticipation. First, the mobile application will need to be built and published on
the chosen aggregators, Apple App Store and Google Play store, in order to ensure that
there is a way for consumers to use the product. It will be imperative that the brand is
known by some of the public and being reached to as many individuals as it can. Crafting a
marketing plan will assist in creating excitement leading up to the release date of the
application. Getting social media engagement will be a huge assistance to building
awareness and making sure that the target audience can understand how the product is
going to work after they have downloaded the application onto their mobile devices, etc.
Tactics
1. June 1st- Select aggregator to become partner with
2. June1st-2nd- Launch website

aggregators. We will ensure that all our development is adhering to the rules and
guidelines of each app store and check to make sure that we submit the application in
enough time so that we can keep a September 1st release date. Therefore, we will probably
have to submit the application to Android (Google Play Store) before September 1st since
they take up to 48 hours for an approval.
Tactics
1. September 1st- alert our social media following of product launch and give a
commercial advertisement as to where they can find the application and how
they can download it

move for Task Commander post-release month.
7. September 25th- Begin monitoring and focusing on feedback from customers
through ratings and surveys being sent out to each email and follower of
Task Commander
Post-Release (October through May)
Strategy
After the release of the Task Commander, our post-release strategies will focus on
retention campaigns with our existing clients while utilizing viral loops to help market
Task Commander. We will continue to utilize market research to tweak any decrease in
sales. Post-release marketing strategies will allow the mobile application to remain popular
on the charts of the Lifestyle category in each aggregator. Keeping Task Commander
relevant is important and continued spread of the word is imperative when building the
brand and checking in on the users as well as the feedback and criticisms of the application.

interest them altogether.

existing clients

application to boost user engagement and retention; having the consumer

and gaining more engagement from users

new platforms such as YouTube and other social media platforms that may
direct attention for our target market and users

Based on the potential successful partnership with Task Commander and Mr. Tolman, SugarTech is already envisioning working with Benjamin on version 2.0 of Task Commander, utilizing aggregation for distribution, and improving social media marketing with strategic branding. SugarTech is excited for version 2.0 of Task Commander which will make the user interface more customizable and allow businesses to add their own fields within the app.
  • 4. 4 III. Project Information Creators: Benjamin Tolman Title: Task Commander Media: Mobile Application Genre: Scheduling & Management Hooks Task Commander: The new office! Task Commander: “Leave the Tasks to Us.” Task Commander: “Manageable: The sign of success.” Task Commander: “It's That Useful Feeling.” Task Commander: “Let your Tasks flow.” Task Commander: Work anywhere with ease Task Commander: Managing the office will never be the same. Task Commander: We organize your success for your client. Task Commander: There’s no where your office can’t go. Task Commander: Our service is your service Logline Task Commander: Task Commander is a task management tool that allows managers to assign and track staff and jobs from their home office, saving time and money for any company employing off-site employees. Premise If you are a company that does their business outside of the traditional wall of an office or a company that like to work organically anywhere from the coffee house or the company retreat Task Commander is the service for you. Task Commander is a mobile application
  • 5. 8/7/22 5 geared toward managing jobs for companies employees that work remotely from their offices. It also helps companies that work in a nontraditional office setting such as Landscapers, home cleaners, and home contractors. Task Commander is a web-based product that is driven by its users.
  • 6. 6 IV. Distribution & Marketing Goals Distribution Goals SugarTech’s most important goal is to find an easy-to-use and accessible platform to begin marketing TaskCommander to its consumer-base. Considering the need for mobile app’s usage from both manager and employee alike, aggregators such as Google Play Store and Apple App Store will be used as Task Commander’s primary distribution method. The Google Play and Apple App Store are the two largest aggregators in mobile app distribution and are easily accessible to anyone owning an android or apple smartphone/device. iOS and Android alone, make up an estimated 99.7% of the US smart-device market cap (Statcounter). Both aggregators charge their developers a small upfront fee to apply their mobile apps to their platforms but are generally affordable. While the Apple App Store and Google Play take 30% of revenue generated from sales of mobile apps, they are currently the most accessible distribution platforms for Task Commander’s target consumer-base and their employees. Looking to the future, other distribution methods such as website functionality or a web-based application mentioned by Mr. Tolman, would further aid in Sugar Tech’s goals for Task Commander in accessibility and general ease-of-use. Taking this all into account, SugarTech’s distribution goals are to get Task Commander onto the Google Play and the Apple app store within 3 months of operation and a website showcasing features of the app within 6 months of operation. Distributing Task Commander through these aggregators allows Sugar Tech to accomplish it’s goals of getting Task Commander into the hands of many consumers as quickly as possible at a relatively low cost. Marketing Goals Currently, other large competitors such as Unolo and Landscape Maintenance Pro create competition in finding and reaching Task Commander’s target consumers. For this reason, Sugar Tech finds it to be a priority to market and advertise how Task Commander’s functionality differentiates from Task Commander’s competitors to help it stand out from the crowd. Most notably, how Task Commander is not tailored to any specific genre of work. The app is designed to be multi-genre and general-purpose, supporting a robust and intuitive communication and task dedication system between employee and manager alike. Sugar Tech will build brand awareness around these aspects will help reach consumers who can’t find a use for genre-specific apps like Landscape Maintenance Pro and or want to have a more robust communication and task dedication system with their on-field employees unlike apps such as Unolo. Sugar Tech is currently looking into marketing Task Commander via social media sites like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Sugar Tech believes that these forms of social media will yield the highest attention from target markets and have the most potential to
  • 7. 8/7/22 7 create positive buzz around Task Commander’s launch. Marketing Task Commander’s central features and useability among independent contractors in all fields of work will help them understand and hopefully get hooked on Task Commander’s potential uses and functionality for their work. Later, with the launch of Task Commander’s own website, showcasing specific app features, guides on how to use the app and a web-based version of Task Commander will further aid in consumers understanding of it’s potential value to them and their employees. These goals should allow consumers to get accustomed to Task Commander as a product and be known as a superior option for their business among other competitor apps.
  • 8. 8 V. Target Markets Primary Target Audience The primary market is aimed towards married males, aged 29-35 in the greater Memphis, TN. area. With 5.2% of the population being independent contractors and an unemployment rate of around 7.5% makes it a market that embraces the independent market. Quick access to Little Rock, AR and only a few hours from Central Tennessee and Nashville ensures there is a plethora of work to be organized. These males are hard- working, blue-collar technicians that specialize in running their own businesses. Most have some college education and are moderately tech savvy and looking for an easier management system. They have families so their time is extremely valuable to them. They enjoy racing, live music, BBQ, and Beale St. The average income for them is $47,811.00. The top 4 jobs for them include Owner Truck Driver, Local Owner Operator, FRAC Sand Owner Operator. Secondary Target Audience Women aged 32-38 working in the maid and housekeeping industry based around Memphis area (Memphis). Women make up 84% of the industry, meaning that they are mothers of children and are looking for a faster more effective organization of jobs. Most are high school graduates with about 12% holding Associates or higher. With housekeepers retaining their job in corporate settings for less than a year on average coming in at 40% showing a strong indication that independent cleaning would be optimal. The average income is $25,053. Family oriented, their hobbies include children sporting events, social gatherings with family and friends.
  • 9. 8/7/22 9 VI. Distribution - Year One: Self-Distribution Plan Brick and Mortar Outlets Although still developing the Task Commander App, there will be a push for the local Brick and Mortar stores who have a high contractor ratio. -Cooper Freight – Memphis, TN local trucking company that can handle freight within a 500-mile radius regularly and has been in business since 1975. They do operate in the lower 48 states but prefer to keep their drivers closer to home to be with their families. This makes Cooper Freight an ideal candidate to utilize Task Commander. Downloadable copies of the app will be available through the contractor accounts and advertising will be marked on delivery trucks (Cooper Freight Inc, 2021). -Onepiece Drywall & Paint – Memphis, TN is a local drywall company that has incredible reviews from its customers.
