2. Basics
▪ 58% ofAmericans supporting its legalization.
▪ For me the answer is simple LEGALIZE IT for medical and
recreational.
▪ Marijuana is a Schedule 1 drug.
– Deeming it a drug with no medicinal value and high potential for abuse.
▪ So I will tell why I feel it weed needs to be legalized.
▪ I will also state why the opposition feels weed should not be legalized
and debunk them or explain why they are misleading.

3. Legalize It For Health Benefits
▪ Marijuana helps fight cancer by slowing down the spread of cancer
cells.
▪ Good for people with ADHD, PTSD and anxiety
▪ Safer choice than most other drugs which includes pain killers and
alcohol.
▪ Helps with depression and is better than most depression medicine.
▪ Can be regulated

5. Economy Benefits
▪ Great for investors.
▪ Made the state of Colorado over 180 millions in taxes
▪ Tax from it goes to schools and programs for young people.

7. Prison System
▪ Less people will be and go to prison
▪ More money for the state
▪ Less of tax payers money wasted on people spending years in prison.
▪ Law enforcement can focus more on solving real crimes.

8. Gateway Drug Myth
▪ No such thing as a “Gateway Drug”
▪ Used as a scare tactic
▪ No proof to support myth only research with omitted parts.

9. Age Limit Means Nothing
▪ The argument that kids will get it is useless.
▪ Kids are smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol already.
▪ Setting an age restriction doesn't mean underage people will not get
their hands on it.
▪ We just have to be tougher on it or run ads against it like they do
tobacco.

10. Failed Lung Cancer Argument
▪ Pot smokers are at no greater risk of getting cancer than non-
smokers or stoners
▪ Depends on how you choose to use the drug
▪ The use of tobacco with weed is what will help cause cancer.
▪ Most people who use cannabis smoke it through tobacco related
objects.

11. Support from Presidential Candidates
▪ DonaldTrump opposes the Federal legalization of Marijuana.
▪ He does say states should be the one to say yes or no to the idea and
he wants medical Marijuana to be further researched.
▪ Hillary Clinton would take it from Schedule 1 to a Schedule 2 drug so
it can be tested.
▪ Hillary will let states do as they wish to study it regardless.
▪ Bernie Sanders just wants it all legalized.

13. Final Verdict
▪ The benefits out way any risk.
▪ Scientist and healthcare professionals agree it should be legal.
▪ 58% of Americans agree it should be legal.
▪ So make it legal.
