Great Escape: Tai-Chi for Wellbeing

A traditional Chinese internal art for mind and body.
Located in the peaceful setting of our Art Garden,
Jian Taiji offer 2 qualified instructors at each class,
both with knowledge and experience in Chen Tai Chi
gained since 1996.
Please note: Participants must arrive at the Art Garden
through the park. Sessions will take place indoors during
bad weather. Comfortable, flat footwear is advised.

Walking for Health
Free, no need to book
Walking is great for your wellbeing and puts a spring in
your step. With Walking for Health, you can take part in
free short art walks at Whitworth Park to help you get active
at a pace that works for you.

Dance for Parkinson’s
English National Ballet’s Dance for Parkinson’s programme
extends unique opportunities to people with Parkinson’s,
their carers, friends and family, to engage in creative dance
activity to live music led by professional artists. The dance
classes are fun and expressive and explore the themes,
choreography and music of the ballets. Participants gain
an insight into the way a production is put together with
opportunities to see English National Ballet performances.

in partnership with Age Friendly Manchester.

Fallen Angel
Fallen Angels Dance Theatre runs dance workshops, projects
and performances for people in recovery in the North West.
They work in partnership with Inspiring Healthy Lives and the
Turnpike in Wigan and Leigh and The Orchard and Achieve
Recovery service in Salford. The performances use recovery
narratives as starting points which makes them deeply
personal and insightful.

With Walking for Health, you can take part in a free short walk around the hospital to help you get active and stay active at a pace that works for you. He will visit wards and departments to entertain staff and patients by singing and playing guitar. Located in the peaceful setting of our Art Garden, Jian Taiji offer 2 qualified instructors at each class, both with knowledge and experience in Chen Tai Chi gained since 1996. Please note: Participants must arrive at the Art Garden through the park. Sessions will take place indoors during bad weather. Comfortable, flat footwear is advised. Gallery 4 2-3pm Dance for Parkinson’s English National Ballet’s Dance for Parkinson’s programme extends unique opportunities to people with Parkinson’s, their carers, friends and family, to engage in creative dance activity to live music led by professional artists. The dance classes are fun and expressive and explore the themes, choreography and music of the ballets. Participants gain an insight into the way a production is put together with opportunities to see English National Ballet performances. Clore Learning Studio 2-4pm Handmade Sociable craft workshops, produced by and for older people in partnership with Age Friendly Manchester. Performances Promenade 1-1.30pm Fallen Angel Fallen Angels Dance Theatre runs dance workshops, projects and performances for people in recovery in the North West. They work in partnership with Inspiring Healthy Lives and the Turnpike in Wigan and Leigh and The Orchard and Achieve Recovery service in Salford. The performances use recovery narratives as starting points which makes them deeply personal and insightful.
