4. Objective
Understand the need to keep active children hydrated during activities.
(Children ages 5-9)
Did you know by the time a child asks for water
they are already dehydrated?
Symptoms of Dehydration
Early Signs
• Fatigue
• Flushed skin
• Faster breathing and pulse
rate
Later Signs
• Weakness
• Dizziness
• Labored breathing
When a child has not been properly hydrated they may become fatigue, cranky, get headaches and can have
poor concentration. Staying properly hydrated can help promote a healthy active life.
5. Research
How to stay hydrated
• 20% of a person’s daily hydration can come from food and snacks
• It takes 30 minutes to get dehydrated, especially in hot weather
• Children need more fluids because they produce more urine
• People lose 10 or more cups of water everyday
• Hydrating before and during activities is important
Observation
Observations of children on the playgrounds and parks
• Parents have to carry so many bags full of toys and other needs for
children
• Parents also carry separate water bottles for themselves and their
children
• On average children stop to drink water
after 40-50 minutes of playing
This parent along with others said
that he was tired of always trying
to keep up with his child’s water
bottle and spending lots of money
to replace lost water bottles.
Problems
1. Children go long durations without water
2. Parents have to remind them to drink water
3. Parents have to carry multiple water bottles
4. Water bottles easily gets lost
5. Parents get stuck holding everything
Goals
1. Encourage children to drink water more often while playing
2. Make it fun to drink water
3. Allow them to carry their own water bottle
4. Storage for snacks and toys
5. Easy to use
8. Observation
Cellphones are getting bigger and women pockets haven’t
Why don’t women like to carry phones in purses?
Women carry many things in their purses and they tend to lose cellphones in all the clutter
Access to Smart Devices
“Ideally I need it in my hand or at least out for easy use.”
9. Women sometimes carry multiple purses at once or a “bag in a bag” to adapt to
many activities.
Hypothesis:
If women purses allowed them to carry smart devices in a fashionable way that also accommodates the need to ex-
change purses for different occasions, then women will be able to carry smart devices more confidently in their purs-
es.
10. Bijou makes smart devices handy
to carry in handbags and yet easily
accessible. The three bags effortlessly
snap together and unsnap with
magnets to allow users the ability to
carry what they need and when they
need it.
Tote
Satchel
Clutch • Mix and match bags with styles and colors
• Easy assemble with secured magnet attachments
• Reversible satchel
• Retractable window allows access to tablet without having to take out from
purse
• Securely carry jacket in-between satchel
• Dot screen technology allows user to interact with phone through clutch
surface
12. Objective:
Combine a brand that is unrelated to any sport and create a brand
language that can be applied to a preventive injury knee-brace that
is associated with sno-cross sports.
Sno-cross can be a dangerous sport with high jumps on snowmobiles with steep and sharp turns. Most sno-
cross injuries are ACL injuries most of the time. A knee-brace for this sport will have to keep the legs bones
straight to prevent twisting and avoid serious injury.

17. What kind of gloves do cannabis farmers use or need?
What is important to the farmer?
• Comfort
• Cost
• Effective
Research
My research concluded that cannabis farmers do not use gloves.
Observation of their task show that there could be innovation in the process of:
• Germination
• Cutting or trimming cannabis
• Spraying pesticide
Interviews from expert Horticulturist David Abernathy at Oaksterdam University, explained that the biggest
problems related to growing cannabis are trimming buds and spraying plants with pesticides.
Spraying pest under the leaves are hard to get toScissors getting gummy while trimming cannabis
18. Ideations and Concepts Farmers tend to spray plants with pesticides
then rub their hands underneath the plants
to spread pesticides under leaves.
Spray Gloves cuts down the touch time and
speeds up the process by spraying plants as
they rub underneath the leaves.
Spider mites which lay eggs and live under
plant leaves eat several types of plants. Spray
Glove will be useful for any gardener in-
cluding rose bushes which are affect by pest
that grow under the leaves.
19. Manufacturing
In order to have the glove made properly I assembled a techpack , which is a technical package with drawings of flats and
dimensions for cutting and direction of assembling glove features.
This techpack was sent to China for assembly so the instructions had to be very clear which this techpack contained 40
pages of information concerning the gloves’ construction.
23. BRANDING
Advertising Ads
Client: Inkkas
Inkkas has recently announced it’s going to expand from online to retail. In order to drive traffic to
retailers, Inkkas will need to advertise to a new audience and broaden it’s target market.
What is the advertising going to accomplish?
Advertising will increase awareness of the new line of Inkkas merchandise in local stores. It will
also help to increase the branding not only online but in retail as well. Advertising for Inkkas will
not only be associated with their product but also their commitment to fundraising with Amazon
Watch. Advertising the shoe brand and fundraising should go hand in hand to promote its line.
With the purchase of each pair of shoes, Inkkas donates to Amazon Watch to help save the Amazon
rainforest.
Who are we going to connect with?
The target market will be 16-35 year olds in areas where the shoes will be sold. This group is very
technology savvy and gets most of their information from social media but pay close attention to
billboards and advertisement in shopping areas. They want to express themselves with their
personal items such as clothing and shoes. With this group also comes the awareness to save the
environment and being more eco-friendly.
What are the most insightful things we know about them?
This age group can be proud of purchasing a shoe that also donates money to a good cause.
Anything that can make them feel good and be stylish will make them want to spread the word
about the shoe that spread the word about the cause. They are trendy and want to help save the
environment and be an eco-friendly buyer.
