CLIENT: Adena Health System
PROJECT: October Facebook
JOB NUMBER: AHS-592
DATE: 9/10/15
DRAFT: 1
Healthy Eats
It’s pumpkin season, but you don’t need to splurge on a latte to get your fix! Try these
three delicious and healthy recipes this October.
1. Roast pumpkin, ricotta, pine nut and sage pasta: bit.ly/1Nua2T3
2. Marcos pumpkin and carrot soup: bit.ly/1idQCG8
3. Pumpkin muffins: bit.ly/1URWbvP
Health Tip
Moles are normal. No, not the little guys that burrow underground—the ones on your
skin. It’s common to have anywhere from 10-40 moles of varying hue, but you should
make an appointment to see a dermatologist if a mole starts to grow, itch or bleed.
Health Tip
Lactose intolerance is not a milk allergy; it means that a patient has difficulty digesting
or absorbing lactose, a sugar found in milk or milk products. You may be lactose
intolerant if you experience bloating, diarrhea and/or gas after consuming dairy. Consult
your physician if you encounter these symptoms. Learn more at 1.usa.gov/1Qexowe.
Health Tip
It’s bonfire season! Keep yourself and others safe around the flames with these
guidelines:
1. Establish a fire ring.
2. Have a bucket of water nearby.
3. Build the fire away from structures.
4. Tie long hair back when tending the fire.
5. Keep baggy clothing and loosely hanging accessories to a minimum.
6. Only use dry materials.
7. Don’t use accelerants.
8. Don’t run around the fire ring.
9. When crossing to the opposite side, walk outside the circle of chairs.
10. Don’t burn aerosols, batteries, foam, painted objects, or fireworks.
11. Keep an eye on children and animals.
12. Have fun!
Hand Washing
2
Washing your hands is an important defense against spreading infection. If you can’t get
to soap and water, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60%
alcohol.
Hand Washing
According to the CDC, handwashing education and access to soap in schools can help
improve attendance. Make sure your child knows how to wet, lather, scrub, rinse and
dry their hands.
