Black Lagoonpresentsitself inarawfashion of a lawlessworldfilledwithpeopleintheirmostdepraved
state. It presentsitself asa cesspool filledwithbadasscastmemberswithuniquetraits:the mafia,the
governmentagents,the warveterans,andthe Nazis. The anime illustratesthe brutalityof the worldand
explicitlyshowthe corruptionof the humanpsyche thatdrivesthemintocommittingmorally

contact withthe surface worldor othervillagesandare inconstantthreat of earthquakes. Kaminaand
Simongrewupin these villagesbutaspiredtogoto the surface world,to be free.One daya giantrobot
fallsthroughthe ceilingof the villagealongwithasurface girl namedYoko.ThisleadsKaminaandSimon
to take theirfirststepontothe surface.Buttheyare hitwitha harsh realitythatthe surface worldwas
no freerthanit wasdownthere.The truth isthe worldis ruledbythe Spiral KingandYoko isone of the
resistances.

9. Gurren Lagann isan amazingadrenaline rushfromstartto finishwithhardlyanydowntime.However,
it doesrequire atolerance forthe absurdso if youwant to unwindandunplugyourbrainI guarantee

Thisis the longestanime onthe listwithawhopping64 episodes.Now before youskimpastthisone
hearme out.I wouldneverrecommendsomethingthisbig,especiallytopeople gettingintoanime,if it
wasn’tanythinglessthanexcellentfromstartto finish.
Alchemyinthe anime isunderstoodas anancientmetaphysical science combinedwith the mystical
manipulatingof matter.The rule of alchemyisequivalentexchange,inordertocreate somethingyou
mustpresentsomethingof equal value.EdwardandAlphonseElriclosttheirmotherata youngage due
to illness.Atthe time the twowere alreadygeniuses of alchemyandwoulddoanythingtobringback
theirmother.Itwas intheirstate of overconfidencethattheyperformedanillegal taboointhe worldof
alchemy knownashumantransmutation.Intryingto revive theirmotherfromthe deadEdwardand
Alphonse performedthe ritual witheverythinggoingwrongcausingthemto lose partsof theirbodiesin
the process.Nowthe two brotherssetoutto findthe legendaryphilosopherstone inordertoreverse
the wrong doingsandretrieve theirbodies.ButindoingsoEdward had to jointhe armyand became a
state alchemisttofundhisresearchand becomesentwinedinamuch biggerplot.

11. The story buildsoneachindividualcharacteroutside of the Elricbrothersand really leavesalasting
impression on you. The characters are complex and their personalities are alive. At the end of everything,
none of the characterswouldbe alive withoutthe helpof eachother.
