WHEN GOING ON STAGE ?
“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” These are the
words of Sir Arthur C. Clarke and how true they are for the speakers that will address
the delegates and attendees at your conference. However, once they walk on stage,
your speakers are out on the edge and have to rely on that “sufficiently advanced
technology”. If that technology proves not to be advanced enough it is not only
embarrassing for you as the host and organiser but it is also harmful for the reputation
of the speaker and your own organisation. And as if that is not enough, the value of
your congress becomes compromised. How often have you heard the words “next slide
please” because something as simple as a wireless remote clicker/cue light was not
“sufficiently advanced”. I will leave it at this example since I know you surely have your
own experiences of “insufficiently advanced technology”.
