3. About Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar born on 24 April 1973 is a former Indian
cricketer and captian and one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He
took up the cricket at the age of 11, made his Test Debut on 15
November 1989 against Pakistan in Karachi at the age of 16 went
on to represent Mumbai and India internationally for close to 24
years.
He did his schooling at Indian Education Society’s New English
School, Bandra and Sharadashram Vidyamandir High School,
Dadar. During his school days he used to play tennis and later
developed interest in cricket. He was coached by famous cricket
coach Ramakant Achrekar at Shivaji Park, Dadar where he used to
practice for hours.
Sachin started his professional cricket career by playing for John
Bright Cricket Club, Mumbai and later joined Cricket Club of India.
His First-class cricket debut was in 1987 playing for Mumbai in Ranji
Trophy. In 1988 he played for Mumbai against Gujarat and scored
100 and became the youngest Indian to make century on his first-
class debut. His International career debut was Pakistan tour in
1989, his test debut was in the same yeas against Pakistan.

ideal man every kid and youngster playing cricket wants to be. He has not
only loved, admired but he has been worshiped by his fans. Sachin
Tendulkar is a person who has never revealed about his personal life to the
outer world. He is a simple, honest, subtle, reserved & yet a strong
personality which he has proved so many times. His game always shows
how much he loves his country.
He is the only player to have scored 100 international centuries, the first
batsman to score a double century in a one-day International.
Tendulkar received the Arjuna Award in 1994 for his outstanding career
achievement, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 1997. Highest sporting
honour ,and the Padma Shri and Padma vibhusan awards in 1999 and
2008, India’s fourth and second highest civilian awards.
On November 2013 the prime Minister office announced to award him
with highest civilian award ,Bharat Ratna. He is the youngest recipient to
date and first sportsman to receive this award.
7. In 2012,Tendulkar was nominated as Rajya
Saba , the upper house of Parliament of India.
Tendular Played 64 international cricket
matches in total , scoring 34,357 runs.
In December 2012,Tendulkar announced his
retirement from ODIs. He retired from all
forms of cricket on 16 november 2013 after
playing his 200th finalTest match, against West
Indies in Wankhede stadium.
