Nitrogen Generator • Itis used extract nitrogen from compressed air and deliver it to the point of application • The air is sucked from atmosphere and gets compressed • It works on the principle of adsorption • Adsorption is the phenomenon of Accumulation of one substance on the surface of another Due to unbalanced attractive forces on the surface.
- 3. Construction of NitrogenGenerator The Nitrogen Generator consists of following Components • Air Compressor, It compresses air sucked from atmosphere and delivers it to the reservoir Tank • Air dryer , It removes moisture from compressed air and dry air enters into Adsorber Tanks respectively • Reservoir Tank , It stores air delivered by the compressor. • Adsorber Tank1 and Tank2 with Membrane/separator in each , Dry air enters into respective tank where Nitrogen is extracted from it with the help of membrane/ Separator. • Inlet Valve , Dry air enters through it into the adsorber Tank. Each tank has it’s inlet valve, discharge and delivery valve. • Discharge valve , After extraction of nitrogen from the air remaining are discharged through it. • Delivery valve , Through this nitrogen is delivered to the point of application.
- 4. Working of NitrogenGenerator • Nitrogen Generator works on the principle of adsorption. Air is sucked , compressed and delivered to the reservoir then it passes through air passes through air dryer loses moisture and Enters into respective adsorber tank where Nitrogen is extracted from it by the process of adsorption using membrane .The remaining gases are discharged into the atmosphere and nitrogen is delivered to the point of application.
