The FBM KLCI index gained 12.33 points or 0.75% on Tuesday. The Finance Index increased
0.47% to 13967.12 points, the Properties Index up 0.27% to 1170.68 points and the Plantation
Index rose 1.96% to 7650.73 points. The market traded within a range of 20.17 points between
an intra-day high of 1673.17 and a low of 1653.00 during the session.
Actively traded stocks include FBMKLCI-HK, KTC, XOX, INSTACO, FBMKLCI-H3, FBMKLCI-H5, OCK-
WA, APFT, SUPERMX-C8 and INSTACO-WB. Trading volume decreased to 1827.82 mil shares
worth RM1937.45 mil as compared to Monday’s 1916.51 mil shares worth RM1734.33 mil.
Leading Movers were PETCHEM (+40 sen to RM7.46), IOICORP (+23 sen to RM4.45), PETDAG
(+86 sen to RM24.50), PETGAS (+50 sen to RM22.14) and SKPETRO (+4 sen to RM1.98). Lagging
Movers were AMMB (-12 sen to RM4.38), ASTRO (-6 sen to RM2.63), WPRTS (-6 sen to RM3.96),
DIGI (-7 sen to RM5.18) and TENAGA (-8 sen to RM13.20). Market breadth was positive with 541
gainers as compared to 346 losers.
The KLCI stay in positive territory after closed higher at 1665.70 points despite overnight losses
in Wall Street. Our local bourse advanced on bargain hunting.
