The FBM KLCI index gained 1.86 points or 0.11% on Thursday. The Finance Index increased 0.14% to 16922.77
points, the Properties Index up 0.25% to 913.95 points and the Plantation Index down 0.15% to 7207.48 points. The
market traded within a range of 8.04 points between an intra-day high of 1645.61 and a low of 1637.57 during the
session.
Actively traded stocks include KNM, BARAKAH, SCOMIES, PHB, MYEG, ARMADA, SAPNRG, HUAAN, PWORTH and HSI-
C5D. Trading volume increased to 3183.84 mil shares worth RM2128.16 mil as compared to Wednesday’s 2669.11
mil shares worth RM1932.96 mil.
Leading Movers were MAXIS (+11 sen to RM5.60), DIGI (+5 sen to RM4.69), AXIATA (+4 sen to RM4.18), HLBANK
(+16 sen to RM20.20) and TENAGA (+10 sen to RM12.64). Lagging Movers were GENTING (-15 sen to RM6.80),
GENM (-3 sen to RM3.25), IOICORP (-3 sen to RM4.50), TOPGLOV (-3 sen to RM4.65) and HARTA (-3 sen to RM4.79).
Market breadth was positive with 437 gainers as compared to 397 losers.
The KLCI closed slightly higher at 1645.07 points amid overnight gains in US market. The performance of our local
bourse was lifted up by high buying interest in heavy weight counters led by Maxis.
