613 students at public and private two-year and four-year colleges. The employer results come from 400 respondents whose organizations have at least 25 employees and report that 25 percent or more of their new hires hold either an associate degree from a two-year college or a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college.
Employers overwhelmingly endorse broad learning as the best preparation for long-term career success. Regardless od major of field of study. Students agree with 63% believing it is most important for recent college grads to achieve both field specific and transferable skills.
When asked what skills employers gave the highest priority to when looking at talent the above where listed highest out of 17 different areas.

A big part of career readiness is skill development. As stated within the research there are many areas that employers find as desirable skills. The Career Resource Center has decided to focus it’s efforts on the following skills. This is based on NACE top 10 skills, our annual employer survey as well as student development theory.
Listed are the top 5 skills employers are looking for in candidates and they are also the skills you should gain throughout your experience here at UF through many different ways.

The excitement of life after college comes with many unknowns, these unknowns can cause for a stressful last semester. The Life After the Swamp series can assist in alleviating some of this fear and stress. Students who participate in the Life After the Swamp five- week series will attend a variety of presentations that will focus on topics addressing what to expect after graduation. These presentations will be delivered by a variety of campus partners and employers
Employer2Student (E2S) programs provide professional development and industry education to our students from the valued perspective our employers. Participating in E2S can help to solidify your organization’s brand with students who may have never known about or considered your organization before.
