● Worked with E. huxlyei algae and performed experiments on its’ interaction with different viruses and
bacterium
● Cultured both the bacterium and algae in petri dishes using self-made plates
● Took data on samples using a Flow Cytometer, a Fluorometer, microscope and a Nanodrop (with
complementary data program)
● Collected data and used programs such as Excel, and wrote up statistical lab reports
NOAA Internship (Summer of 2015)
● Worked at a NOAA facility in Alaska for 8 weeks collecting and analyzing statistical data on
phytoplankton
● Used programs such as Excel and the Seabird suite to record and run statistical models on the data
● Presented findings at community information sessions at Alaska Islands & Ocean Visitor center
