Many of you joined us at the end of May at our Annual Convention in
our corporate hometown of Salt Lake City. So you’ve seen firsthand what
we’ve been up to for the past 12 months. For those of you who didn’t
make it, here’s a recap of where we are and where we are going.
When we started, SendOutCards was built on the latest and greatest
technology. But as you know, technology has changed a whole lot over
the past 11 years; we’ve had an interesting ride trying to keep up with it.
We have the greatest customer follow-up system in the world, and there
has always been the expectation that we should run on the latest and greatest technology —
and so that’s what we’ve been working on. To help me illustrate what I’m talking about, I want
you to think of the old technology as “flip-phone technology.” We’ll call the new technology
“smartphone technology,” to give you an idea of the progress we’ve made.
In the beginning, we started with what you now know as our Contact Manager. We went out to
businesses and created “campaigns” for them so they could keep in touch with their customers.
This was our customer follow-up system in its infancy. Keep in mind, we were doing all of the
work for them because we had no card editor and no “send” button. Those things came later.
We eventually were able to do variable print-on-demand and we created the card editor. All
of this was done under our original company, Treat’em Right Solutions. When we added the
“send” button, which allowed people to go in and create their own cards, that’s when we be-
came SendOutCards — the company as you know it today. That’s also when the real fun began,
because that’s when the users started piling in quickly and the data started to grow. Then, in
our desire to satisfy the wants and needs of our customers, we added handwriting fonts, sig-
natures, PicturePlus, templates, elements, and gifts. As you can imagine, that is a lot of new
data. As a result, a lot of new users were added because of those new features.
KODY’S MESSAGESENDOUTCARDS CEO KODY BATEMAN
Let me give you an idea of what we’ve done as a team, on that old flip-phone technology: We
have 624,000 active accounts on SendOutCards (not including gift accounts). We have 128,591,486
contacts in our Contact Manager. We have 6,200,000 pictures, 111,400 personal handwriting
fonts, and 472,500 personal signatures stored on that old brick-phone/flip phone technology!
We’ve sent over 107,893,326 million greeting cards and over 3,280,930 gifts. Most importantly
— and this is the part you’ll like best — we’ve paid out over $104,650,974 in commissions. And
we are just getting started!
So, we’ve got all of this stuff going on, all of these users sending cards and gifts every day —
and then comes THE CONVERSION! I want to walk you through that process and why it was
necessary. There were so many things that we wanted to be able to offer you — a new mobile
app, a new website, new reporting features, and much more. But we needed NEW smartphone
technology to support all of these things. So, we recruited a dream team of programmers to
come to Salt Lake City and build the new foundation for SendOutCards. They had to take all of
the functionality of the old website and database and move it all over to the new 2014 technol-
ogy. After months of preparation, this is what happened on April 22. I know it took some time to
work out the kinks, but everything is on the new platform now and it’s all the latest technology.
Most importantly, it is technology that is scalable and will grow with us. This is highly sophisti-
cated technology and nobody else has it! CONTINUED NEXT PAGE >

SendOutCards was the answer
to Callie Shields’ prayers when
she found herself working in the
corporate world, and she real-
ized she didn’t own her own life.
She was spending most of her
time traveling, building someone
else’s dream. As a University of
Notre Dame graduate and suc-
cessful businesswoman, Callie
was determined to find balance
in her life.
Despite her six-figure income,
Callie was seeking something
money can’t buy: She wanted
to create happiness and find
purpose in her life. Being the
intelligent, vivacious woman that
she is, she turned to network
marketing for her answers. Since
Callie wasn’t prepared to imme-
diately transition from a corporate
income, she started building
SendOutCards part-time. It didn’t
take long before she was in love
with everything SendOutCards of-
fers, and found both balance and
purpose.
“I wouldn’t have met some
of my best friends if it wasn’t
for this business,” Callie said.
“I knew in my heart that Send-
OutCards was the answer to the
question of how I would get con-
trol of my life. Hands down, it’s
the smartest business decision
I’ve ever made.”
Her strong, positive attitude
and determination are two of the
characteristics that allowed Cal-
lie attain her goal of reaching the
rank of Executive just before the
Annual Convention. And we are
very proud to have the opportu-
nity to salute her success!
“In my head, Notre Dame and
network marketing did not go
together, but in my heart, I knew
SendOutCards was the answer
to my prayers. Now I am proud
to say that I am a Notre Dame
graduate and a network market-
ing professional.”– CALLIE SHIELDS
CONGRATULATIONS TO CALLIE SHIELDS - NEW EXECUTIVE
NEW EXECUTIVE
You are going to see some amazing new things come from SendOutCards because of this
new platform and new technology. In addition to the mobile application, new website, new re-
porting features, and a cool new social platform called Sendcere (a massive game-changer!),
we are also in the process of building a global API (Application Programming Interface) that
will allow us the flexibility to communicate with printers and CRMs all over the world. We have
capabilities that nobody else has and we will be known as the premier customer follow-up
system in the world. We fully intend to leverage the power of social media and the power of
technology to give you the tools you need to help us grow. You could take any one of the things
I mentioned and create massive growth with it. But I’m not satisfied with that. I want MORE! I
want SendOutCards to add over a million new users within the next 12 months, and now that
we have Sendcere, that number might even be conservative. We are going to leverage what the
marketplace wants from us and inspire what they need from us, which is a way for them to act
on their promptings and reach out in kindness.
As we continue to test Sendcere, SOC 2.0, and the mobile app, I invite you to prepare for this
growth by beta testing Sendcere. In addition to sending a card a day and a gift a week, I want
you to go into your card editor and create greeting cards and then I want you to hit that green
“collect card on Sendcere” button so your card will be visible on this powerful new social
sharing platform. We’ve created the framework for Sendcere, but it is up to all of you to make
it the robust visual card-sharing platform that it’s destined to be. I truly believe Sendcere is go-
ing to completely revolutionize the way we do business and generate a tremendous opportunity
for everyone involved in SendOutCards.
The other thing I want you to do in preparation for our growth is plug into our Simple Success
System. Do you all remember the “drip-drip-drip” story Jimmy Dick shared at Convention? He
said you could take just a single drop of water every day, and let it drip onto granite, and over
time — drip, drip, drip — it would bore a hole straight through that granite. He compared that
to our Splash Pak activations: Just one a day, over time, will create a whole lot of new users
in your organization. And that just happens to be the same activity that will help you qualify
for the Manager Bonus Pool each month. I’m not asking you to do anything different; just be
consistent. Failure cannot handle consistency!
We are on this journey together. I appreciate each one of you for helping to spread this mes-
sage of kindness to the world. We have what other people need and we will not stop until the
world listens!
Your friend,
Kody B

Anyone who knows Dave and
Lori Smith realizes that the Dis-
tributor of the Year award truly
could not have gone to a more
deserving or humble pair of re-
cipients. Although they had been
among only eight distributors
nominated for this prestigious
award, Dave and Lori confessed
that they had not put too much,
if any, thought to the idea they
would actually win.
“Winning Distributor of the
Year was honestly one of the
furthest things from our minds,”
Dave joked. “It’s humbling, and a
huge honor we’ll use to mark an-
other life-changing milestone on
this exciting road we’ve traveled
with SendOutCards.”
Though winning this presti-
gious award may have come as a
surprise to Dave and Lori, it was
anything but that to the raucous,
wild crowd that erupted as the
winner was announced. The list
of nominees for this one award
read like a veritable “who’s who”
of SendOutCards VIPs. Once
again, congratulations to all of
those nominated: Linda Thomas,
Michael and Suzy Duffy, Phebe
Trotman, Laurie Delk, Todd Fal-
cone, Jules Price, and Mike Roy.
Despite having had quite a
celebrated year, Dave and Lori
immediately went back into ac-
tion right after convention.
Dave and Lori were also rec-
ognized as being among the elite
group of million-dollar earners.
With that, their continued goals
include developing an insane
amount of residual income over
the next few years, as well as
their push to rank advance to
Eagle before the next convention.
“We need to keep our focus on
the goals of others, which will re-
sult in our advancement to Eagle.
But more importantly, helping
our team achieve Manager, Se-
nior Manager, and Executive, and
celebrating those rank advance-
ments with them, also helps us
reach our goals faster and in a
more rewarding way,” Lori said.
Send, Splash, and Teach — this
is the focus Dave, Lori, and their
team have to build this business
daily.
“This business is a business
— not a hobby,” Dave said. “It
needs to be treated as such. But
the cool part of that is there are
others to help us learn a simple
system and go out and get our
piece of this billion dollar move-
ment.”
“We are so excited for the new
marketing around things like
Splash Paks and Sendcere,” Lori
said. “We believe Sendcere is
bringing in a greater opportunity,
where success in this company
is faster, quicker, and better than
ever before. And just you wait —
you haven’t seen anything yet! The
future is full of endless possibili-
ties.”

Jules Price is no stranger to the
SendOutCards stage, as a popular
trainer at the Treat’em Right Semi-
nars and the author of Secrets
from the SOC Drawer. So it was no
small surprise to see her capture
this year’s coveted Runner-up
Distributor of the Year award.
“What an incredible honor!”
Jules said. “Throughout my seven-
and-a-half years in this business,
I’ve been so passionate about not
only sharing the gift of SendOut-
Cards with others every day, but
equally passionate about helping
other distributors shorten their
learning curve, arm them with ver-
biage, and strengthen their mind-
set to overcome their obstacles in
whatever small ways I can.”
One of the best things about the
profession of network market-
ing, Jules said, is that everyone
can win together. “If I think back
on the most significant triumphs
and highlights throughout my SOC
journey, without exception they
have all been instances where
someone has told me how my
words or actions helped them or
made an impact,” Jules said. “And
now to be recognized by SOC for
making a contribution through the
years is an amazing feeling!”
Jules finds the best way to
hone her business is to continu-
ally clean the slate, refocus, find
her passion, make a decision,
and set her vision.
“It is so easy to get discouraged
in this business, especially when
people do it ‘on the side,’” she said.
“So if things get difficult, it’s easy
to come to a screeching halt! But
simply taking a moment to refocus
on what you want and finding the
‘charge’ of why you’re doing the
business does wonders. When we
get disappointed by setbacks, we
have to push through them. It’s
only in moments of uncertainty
that we push ourselves, better
ourselves, and realize ourselves.”
A great concept to remember,
is “start right where you are.” If
more people just made a decision
to start, without thinking they
need to know something else or
do something else first, more
people would experience success
earlier on. So start where you
are, and go!
“The power to stay motivated
comes from within YOU, or else
you’ll be letting other people dic-
tate your dreams AND your ability
to reach them,” Jules said. “My
goals in this business are huge,
and they grow every day as I realize
the vast potential for us to be able
to share this gift with the world.”
The best part about SendOut-
Cards? It’s fun! “I believe with
all my heart that everyone in the
world should at least know about
this tool and have the opportunity
to become a customer,” Jules
said. “And showing someone how
to send a card on our system is
fun! So that makes it easier to
bring it up to people, show them
what we offer, and then simply let
them decide whether they want
to be a customer or a distributor.
Because everyone in the world
could be a customer, that makes
it a pretty great reason to be a
distributor and get paid on people
using this wonderful service! My
belief in that comes across when
I share this, which helps other
people see it too.”
And it’s not a business that can
be built by accident, she added.
“If you THINK about the business
a lot without actually working the
business, you are doing yourself
and others a disservice. Our only
job is to share it with them to
offer them the same gift that you
were offered.”

The SOC Expo provided an op-

more about the exciting technolog-
ical announcements, such as SOC
2.0, the mobile app, and Sendcere,
from the ITS and marketing/field
operations departments.
But that was just the begin-
ning! The festival-like atmosphere
was enhanced by various games,
demos, and gifting samples.
The compliance/finance depart-
ment had a “money machine”
where people had the opportunity
to step inside and grab SOC bucks
that they were able to spend in the
Convention store. And it was nearly
impossible to miss the huge robot
built by the shipping department —
a popular photo opp for many expo
guests! Shipping also created a fun
opportunity for people to build their
own brownie gift pack and send it
to a real recipient, right from the
Expo. Needless to say, that was a
very popular booth!
In addition to the games and
delicious product samples pro-
vided by the gifting department,
there were also learning oppor-
tunities provided by customer
support and the chance to interact
with SOC corporate staff members
and other Convention attendees
throughout the entire Expo Hall.
As people visited our brand new
publishing department booth, they
had the chance to contribute to
a real story in the making, while
learning all about the self-publish-
ing process.
Everyone was in high spirits as
they snapped pictures at the vari-
ous photo booths, including one
with a giant million dollar check,
and jumped into the “talk spots”
for an opportunity to make a new
friend! Founder and CEO, Kody
Bateman spent plenty of time
in one of those talk spots before
heading over the media center for
a lively and humorous interview.
Our international team hosted
the media center booth, which
gave our Eagles and other leaders
the chance to pepper other people
with various interview questions,
all of which was broadcast to a live
audience.
At the end of the day, our Con-
vention attendees left the Expo
floor raving about what a unique
and inspiring company SendOut-

are to be a part of the Kindness

SendOutCards has implemented

the sounds of your
office be the waves
moving in and out with the tide?
Why can’t your business attire be

selling book Beach Money, author
Jordan Adler teaches you how to
compress a 30-year career into
three to five years. Through creating
a large residual income in net-
work marketing, you can fit a work

July selection: Dance of Victory
by Sandy Morgan
Born with cere-
bral palsy, Sandy
Morgan’s parents
struggled to cope
with what was, at
the time, a very mysterious disease.
After much physical therapy and
failing to gain complete control of
her rigid and rebellious muscles,
Sandy’s beautiful and powerful
mind was developing. Later in life,
Sandy became a role model and
activist, creating awareness for
the disabled communities. Dance
of Victory celebrates a persistent
and intelligent woman whose
mind never stops and body never
began. Her legacy is one that paved
the way for future generations of
disabled individuals to have access,
independence, and equality.

The number one factor that stops a new Mar-
keting Director in their tracks is the fear of rejec-
tion. That paralyzing fear steals the dreams of
many great people. One way to minimize this fear
is to have a system that allows everyone to suc-
ceed. SendOutCards is not about YOU enrolling
thousands of people personally: It’s about a few,
who get a few, who get a few.
“The Simple Success Training System” was de-
signed to do just that. The system is easy. Leverage
the power of the product by showing someone how
to send a card and ask them to watch three short
videos. Make sure you do both steps. Let the system
do the sorting. You are looking for “ones” and “twos.”
The people who are ones want to build a SendOut-
Cards business, and twos want to be customers.
Knowing that your small business plan is to just
use the system will diminish the fear factor. Prac-
tically EVERYONE can give stuff away. If you teach
your MDs to do the same, your group will grow
very quickly.
Promoting to the rank of Executive has never
been easier. To become an Executive, you need to
be a Senior Manager and have five Senior Manag-
ers in your Senior Manager group. Now let’s break
that down. You need five Marketing Distributors
who each have 15 Marketing Distributors in their
group. Three personally sponsored Marketing Dis-
tributors who meet the customer requirement pro-
motes someone to Manager. Three more person-
ally sponsored Marketing Distributors and a total
of 12 Marketing Distributors in the Manager group,
who all meet the customer requirement, promotes
someone to Senior Manager. (You must also be
Q-qualified to promote to Manager or higher, and
have $93 in personal and customer volume.)
Focus on the promotion of those five people.
Get lost in their promotion and practically move
in with them. Your total focus is helping them
get promoted to Senior Manager. Use the Senior
Manager Worksheet in the downloads section of
your website to track your progress or the prog-
ress of these five Marketing Distributors.
Let’s be perfectly honest. You can learn this
business over lunch. It’s simple and straightfor-
ward. The mind game will be your toughest foe. If
you are mentally tough, you will be unstoppable.
Remember, without doubt, fear, worry, and stress,
you will never develop mental toughness. Doubt
will take you out of action, and action will take you
out of doubt. Don’t worry about the ones who say
no. You don’t need very many yeses to create a
million-dollar lifestyle.
Successful marketers have always written their
own tickets. Once you decide to become mentally
tough, the battle isn’t over, but the outcome is
pre-determined.
The Eagles wrote a song with lyrics that said,
“Often times it happens, that we live our lives in
chains, and we never even know we have the key.”
Don’t live your life in regret knowing you had the
secret of how to make it big. The possibilities are
endless. It all starts with YOU!
