1. The Denise Welch Charity Ball is Back!
This year, the Denise Welch Charity Ball swings back to the revolutionary sound of American Soul,
bringing Motown to the heart of Manchester on Saturday 21st November. It will be a night that is
guaranteed to have you, quite literally, Dancing in the Street.
With some incredible world class performers already secured, the night will kick off the festive
season setting the bar incredibly high. Join Denise and a host of famous faces in a starlit Marquee
within the grounds of Old Trafford Football Ground. Mix with the stars, whilst enjoying a delicious
three course dinner as well as performances by some of the World's top soul artists including:

GwenDickeyshotto stardomin the 70s as the leadsingerof Rose Royce.The group had massive hits
with"Car Wash" andthe muchcovered song "Wishing on a Star", and since leaving the band Gwen
has established a solo career.
THE REAL THING
The sensational British Soul Group who charted internationally with their song "You to Me Are
Everything", which reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. They were the most
successful black rock/soul act in England during the 1970s.
ROY G. HEMMINGS DICTIONARY OF SOUL SHOW
Roy G Hemmings is the longest serving former member of the legendary group: THE DRIFTERS. He
will perform Drifters classics such as "There Goes My Baby" and "Save The Last Dance for
Me". Roy's current stage show, The Dictionary of Soul, includes the songs of Otis Reading, James
Brown, The O-Jays, The Supremes, Temptations, Four Tops and other Motown and Soul greats.
Once again, the event will raise funds for The GEM Appeal; a charity dedicated to conducting
research into, and finding cures for, genetic diseases in Children.
