The city of Austin, Texas is considering building several small pocket parks throughout the city to provide more green spaces for residents. These pocket parks would be very small, usually less than one acre in size, and located on vacant lots or unused public land. The parks department believes these small parks could help address the lack of green spaces in some neighborhoods and give residents more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors close to home.
