1. or two and half
weeks in the months
of March-April 2016,
Missionary Pastor
Elias Ngome was in Tombel
training some 8 Pastors on
how to develop a good recipe
and infrastructure to make
disciples of Jesus Christ.
There is an increasing
misunderstanding of the
mission of the church. What
started as a movement in the
early church era has become
an institution. Many have
understood it to mean
evangelize-plant churches and
carry out programs and
activities. Instead of disciple
making been the entire aim of
the church, some see it as
another program or a strategy
of the church. Today in
Tombel I will say many have
gone into wrong practices
with the advent of Neo-
Pentecostalism. People gather
to carry out programs and
activities which don’t help
people become more like
Christ. The new “Prophets”
and their activities are geared
towards a display of a certain
power and fire which I am not
too sure is the power of the
Holy Spirit. Many are using
this pheromone to manipulate
the poor extorting their
money, and exercise pride in
the name of miracles. This
confusion has greatly affected
the service of the Lord in
Tombel as many only talk
about power, power and fire,
fire expecting some great
miracle to happen in their
lives. These same people
including their leaders do not
look like Christ in their
character,capacities, theology,
and vision. Thank God for this

pattern of Jesus. During the

transformation to the likeness
of Christ and the
infrastructure for making
disciples in a church. Elias is
hoping to return to Tombel
next June to continue working
with these leaders and many
others planning to come in
new as there are a lot of
indications the ministries of
these first leaders are already
influencing many lives to grow
as disciples of Jesus. To God is
the glory for the Great things
is doing and will continue to
do. Echoes of the last
February 2016 missionary trip
to Wabane continue to make
news. The trip yielded much
fruit and as seen from the
preaching and discipleship
sessions that were carried in
Babong, Mbechou and Tabot
villages. There was a high
turnout in these three villages,
as all who attended the
meetings clearly understood
the gospel and where taught
how to undergo spiritual
transformation to become
more like Christ.
