This is the presentation of my CKN: "She is the new strength". My CKN is focus on women who work in NFP and who travel, trying to emphasise the pleasure, knowledge and empowerment this produces. I want to gather experts of the NFP area and women who experienced that in order to share experience, knowledge and stimulate social innovation for developing countries.
2. My CKN
My CKN is focused on women who work in NFP,
principally in the field of children education and
women empowerment, and who travel, trying to
emphasise the pleasure, knowledge and
empowerment this produces.
I want to gather experts of the NFP area and
women who experienced that in order to share
experiences, knowledge and stimulate social
innovation for developing countries.
3. My strategy
“Il n’y a de richesse que d’hommes” Jean Bodin
This famous quotation well summarise the purpose
of my CKN and the core of my strategy.
My strategy is to gather people and encourage
them to share their experience on my blog, which
will be the central point of my project. Then, all the
content and information will be pass on the social
platforms such as Facebook, twitter, Instagram and
Pinterest.
4. My blog
I created a blog called “SHE is the new strength”
linked to twitter and Facebook on Wordpress.
The main purpose of this blog is to share our
experiences in NFP in developing countries, share
our travel experiences, with photos, songs…
Another purpose is to introduce organisations and
social enterprises which worked in developing
countries in the field of children education and
women empowerment
I decided to focus my CKN on women who work in NFP, principally in the field of children education and women empowerment, and who travel, trying to emphasise the pleasure, knowledge and empowerment this produces.
As a woman, it is not always easy to travel alone because some countries are not safe or because the place of the woman is not the same due to the religion or the culture.
Consequently, I find it interesting to develop a CKN that will allow sharing experiences, tips, and contacts to create a community and motivating the ones who are still afraid of taking the plunge.
My strategy is to gather people and encourage them to share their experience. In that goal, I created a blog, involving people to share content which will be pass on the social platforms. The contribution of the community is more than essential for make it real and alive. People can write an article about their experience, make a video or a portfolio.
Moreover, one meeting is organised every month in different cities to meet each other face to face and keep on developing the network.
Another important point of my strategy is trying to reach students. In each universities it exists associations promoting humanitarian actions, involvement in NFP organizations or volunteering. It would be very helpful to involve students in my CKN and to create offline events during campus days for instance.
This network is a collaborative innovation in which users, communities and visionaries cooperate. We share our experiences to co-create knowledge, a database and solutions for a wide range of social needs. It allows a better connection between individuals and organisations.
Thanks to this network, we can increase the information about women who are travelling for a humanitarian or social goal and have an influence on the policy of awareness and protection. Moreover, the collaboration and sharing of experience could lead to new social innovations.
The main purpose of my blog is to share experiences in NFP in developing countries, knowledge and advice thanks to blogposts, video, music, pictures. It has to be an interactive platform with exchanges between people. It will also provide a meeting space, or interface between women interesting in travelling for NFP and organisations.
I created my blog on wordpress. The style is pretty simple and refine, with a clear typography. There are 4 categories : Home / About / Articles / Inspirations
Home: introduction about my experiences around the world and my activities as volunteer in the NFP field
About: why I created this blog, what is the purpose and how it works.
Articles: in this category will appear all the publications. It’s a collaborative work
Inspirations: it’s the media part, music, portfolio, events
I want to add another category which will be called moving into action and which will introduce different NGO and associations all over the world
“I am Powerful” is a former campaign of Care.
It sums up well the purpose of my CKN and the message I want to relay to women.
I want to show that we can be a woman and travel alone, meet people, discover a country and a culture without being afraid and in danger. Moreover I want people share their experience to encourage new initiatives and social innovation.
This visual map is a summarise of my network.
First, in red, appear the people I targeted. It’s mainly women who experienced to travel alone and worked for NFP in developing countries. But there are other key people as experts of the NFP area, students and professionals.
Secondly, in black, you can see all the social platforms connected to my network, showing the online connections and the different channels which pass the information on.
Finally, the offline networks which intersect with the online ones.
