Updates in the Russian legislation in 2020

1. Employers should already actively
prepare for the transition to electronic
work books planned for 2021.

2. New rules to raise funds via crowdfunding
platforms for SMEs apply since
January 2020.

3. Additional coefficients to calculate
negative environmental impact fees
are in effect since January 2020.

4. The law on organic products
came into force in January 2020.
It regulates the labelling,
production, storage, transportation
and sale of these products.

5. The procedure for determining
the interchangeability of medicines
will change from 1 March 2020.

6. It will be possible, from April 2020,
to notify third parties of the existence
of special rights and restrictions
in relation to JSCs and LLCs through
the Fedresurs website.

7. Rospatent’s new digital services
will start working in May 2020.
The agency is also planning
to issue certificates electronically.

8. Dairy products will be subject to mandatory
labelling from 1 June 2020.

9. Data Matrix labelling will become
mandatory for all medicines
from 1 July 2020.

10. The sale of gadgets without
pre-installed Russian software
will be prohibited from July 2020.
However, the list of gadgets and
the software installation procedures
have not yet been set.

11. It will be possible to register a new type of means
of individualisation of goods – geographical
indications – from July 2020.

12. It is necessary to re-register
prices for all vital medicines
by the end of 2020.

13. Some notary services will be available
online at the end of 2020.
